Noun:

1. person, place, thing, idea

2. common: begins with a lower case letter (city)

3. proper: begins with a capital letter (Detroit)

4. possessive: shows ownership (girl's)

Pronoun:

1. takes the place of a noun

2. types - 

     a) personal (1st person: pronouns having to do with "me"; 2nd person: pronouns having to do with "you"; 3rd person: pronouns having to do with everyone else)

           1. singular nominative: I, you, he, she, it

           2. plural nominative: we, you, they

           3. singular objective: me, you, him, her, it

           4. plural objective: us, you, them

           5. singular possessive: my, your, his, her, its, mine, yours

           6. plural possessive: our, your, their, ours, yours, theirs

     b) reflexive (reflect back to "self")

           1. myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves

     c) relative (start dependent clauses)
