Caleb's eyes snap open, his breath escapes his lips quickly. His eyes adjust to the room, his hand wraps around his wrist as a zip of pain fills his arm.

"FUCK!!"

His eyes lower to his arms as he catches a glimpse of the remaining scars that the chains had left. A groan escapes his lips before he turns his attention back to the room.

"Something is up."

He almost chokes when he hears the gravely sounding voice of his wolf. His breath heaves slightly as he tries to calm himself.

His eyes close as an uneasy breath leaves his lips, his voice cracking as he speaks with his wolf.

"Wh-at happened?"

A tinge of dread fills him as his wolf's response takes so long.

"A slight problem. Otherwise, we're fine but we have been moved further from home."

"Mother?"

"Worrying about us. She was here a few hours ago."

His eyes drift to the door feet away, his heartbeat rising.

"And you? W-what's the extent of our scars?"

"I couldn't tell you."

He lets out a breath as he feels the dread creep up his spine.

"We can explore."

The beta moves about the halls, his eyes cast straight forwards. His eyes swirling with its darker color, his wolf fighting for control as he moves further towards the end of the hallway.

His anger coursing through his bones, his hands shaking with the impending amount of fear filling his form.

"I believed his judgment but for his beta to risk this upon his mate. It's almost like marking him as a traitor."

He roots to his spot as he hears a scream, his form freezing with the pain and dread echoing around him.

He hears Allyson's voice as she comes out a room further ahead of him, tears trailing her cheeks as she moves swiftly towards him.

His eyes lower to the ground, his breath catching as she sidesteps him. He moves slowly towards the room as he hears her running steps drifting further away.

"Can I help her?"

"That is your choice. Whether it works or not is entirely out of your control."

He moves towards the room, the door left ajar as he catches a glimpse of Lexi.

He moves to the side of the bed, his eyes close for a second before swiftly opening. His eyes drift to golden and white, his lets a breath escape his lips as his hand moves to Alexis.

He lets it hover above her as his voice comes out whispered, almost serene.

"She gives us our mate, breaths life into us, and carries us upon death."

"For you I plead for your hand. Give me the help I need for the she-wolf before me."

His eyes lifting to the sky as he feels the familiar feeling of being wrapped in a cocoon of energy.

"She ran, fear filling her as she tried to escape her fate. She has a will of a warrior but her heart isn't entirely made of stone."

"He fought for her, shredded her perfect skin with his jagged mark. Should she wear a scar in its place as a reminder, fine but she shouldn't suffer for his ignorance."
