Matt and I are currently at a coffee shop and ever since we met today, he haven’t said anything that much – he just keep on texting someone on his phone.
“Hey, I am going home already.” I say, but he didn’t even look away from his phone. “I’ll go ahead.”
I get up from the chair and that is the only time that he stops texting and grabs my wrist.
“Wait, I am going to walk you home.” he gets up from his chair and takes his jacket from the chair.
“Don’t bother, Matthew, I am okay.” I bluntly reply and start to walk out of the shop.
“Lexi, what’s the matter?” he follows me out of the shop and down the pavement.
“Nothing.” I casually reply, shrugging.
“Wait, I thought we are going to the mall later.” he walks in front of me and walks backwards, as he looks at me.
“Forget it, besides you’re too busy texting whoever that is.” I retort.
I walk past him, without waiting for his reply. Matt keeps on calling my name, but I just ignore him and continue walking. As I was walking, someone just stops in front of me. I slowly look up at him and when I saw who it was, my heart just starts to beat faster.
“A–andy,” I stutter out. “what are you doing in Manchester?”
He just pulls me into a hug — at first, I didn’t know what to do but I eventually hug him back, even letting the tears fall. I thought I’d never get to hug him ever again, but I am happy to be in his arms right now.
“You have no idea how much we miss you.” he whispers whilst we’re still in a hug.
“I miss you boys too.. so much.” I reply, my voice cracking.
After a few seconds, he pulls away and I wipe the tears on my cheeks.
“Why didn’t you come back?” he looks at me whilst furrowing his eyebrows.
“I – I want to, but it was too late; you and the boys no longer live at the flat and even if I want to message you, I am ashamed of myself to do that like who am I to ignore you and just come back like nothing happened.” I reply
“Alexandria..” he breathes out. “You are like a sister to me, you know that; no matter what the situation is, I will always be there for you.”
“I know, I am sorry, Andy, I am just really ashamed of myself.” I say to him.
He just smiles at me and opens his arms for a hug again, I walk towards him and he wraps his arms around me in a tight hug. Whilst we are hugging, I hear a familiar voice say my name and Andy loosens his arms around me. Pulling away, I turn around to the person who spoke.
“Oh, my God, hi.” I say whilst smiling, hugging Brook and Jack. “I missed you two so much.”
“We missed you too.” Brook replies in the hug.
“Yeah, why did you move away?” Jack asks, pulling away. “I was really sad when I found out that you were moving out.”
“We all were in the RoadTrip camp to be honest.” Andy chimes in.
I smile a little, “I am sorry, we had to move with my grandmother so we could look after her.”
“Oh, speaking of which,” Andy says, his tone suddenly shifts. “how is she?”
“Better,” I simply reply. “um, where’s the other two?”
“Oh, they’re at home.” Jack answers.
“They didn’t feel like going out, so it’s just us three.” Andy further explains.
I just nod, I don’t even know if I am ready to see Rye after what happened.
“Guys, I am really really sorry for everything, I know that words aren’t enough for you to forgive me but –” I say, but Andy cut me off.
“What are you talking about?” he chuckles. “We aren’t mad at you.”
“Yeah, not even once did we feel that way towards you.” Brooklyn puts his arm around my shoulder.
I bite my lip, “Thank you, I didn’t think that you guys would forgive me.”
“Don’t be silly, even if we did get mad at you; it wouldn’t last that long.” Andy chuckles.
“Yeah, and besides, we don’t know what your side is so why would we get mad at you?” Jack adds.
My eyes brim with tears and I wipe them, just before they fall.
“Don’t cry.” Andy chuckles, rubbing my back.
Brooklyn opens his arms and walks towards me, before squeezing me into a hug.
“Hey, why don’t we go out later?” Brook suggests, as he pulls away.
“I’d love that, I miss hanging out with Alexa.” Jack says, making me smile.
“Yeah, so do I.” Brook adds.
“Do you have any plans for tonight?” Andy turns to me, looking at me in question.
I bite my lip as I hesitantly shake my head, “Mom would be home already by that time, so..”
“Great, we’ll see you in front of the Starbucks at seven.” Andy says.
What did I just get myself into?
