Meryl's POV

One night, Maks and I were getting ready for bed. As I climbed into bed and Maks finished brushing his teeth, he muttered something:

"I don't see how this is going to work, I really wanted kids..." He trailed off, throwing the towel in the hamper.

"Me too..." Maks walked slowly over to the bed and crawled under the heavy comforter. When he turned out the light, instead of embracing me in his arms like he always did, he turned away from me and fell asleep.

We'd been like this for three weeks. Barely talking to each other, not touching one another, nothing. I knew he was hurt, so was I. I began to wonder if we would divorce or if everything would turn out alright. Honestly, I had no idea at this point.

He would leave for a dance show in New York tomorrow, and I would be left here all alone. Although, I already felt alone sitting in this cold bed.

When I woke up the next morning, I was lying in an empty bed. Maks was scrambling throughout the house trying to make sure he had everything.

"Good morning" I said, trying to get his attention.

"Good morning." he whispered. Maks didn't even look up at me. "Well, I've got to go." He grabbed his suitcase and started towards the door.

After loading his things into the car, he smiled a fake smile, waved, and drove away. No goodbye, no kiss, no hug, not even an 'I love you'.

I returned back inside and started a marathon of tears that would last all day.
