He needed the ride. It was only an hour outside of town, and cold enough to numb his face and fingers through his gloves but he didn't notice. His shoulders finally relaxed as he made his way south down the highway. It was late, probably near midnight, when they finally made the drop with Kagen.

There was always such a feeling of relief after every drop. One more paycheck, one more illegal act. They had all done time for one thing or another, but Elliot had never been arrested for drugs. That's why Tack sent him on all these late night drops. Because he'd be the least likely to do hard time if he got caught. He and Luca.
Luca was young, too young for Elliott's comfort. He'd been a patched member for less than a year, but a brother all the same so Elliott couldn't say much.
He noticed now coming back to the open road from his thoughts that Luca had peeled off to the left no doubt headed for the clubhouse while Elliott stayed straight headed for home.
Just when Elliot thought he was homefree for the night Tack called.

"What do you want old man? I'm clocked out for the night" Elliott said

"You're clocked out when I say you're clocked out smartass. Plans changed, Scarlett asked that I come to the will reading but I've already got a meet set up. I need you to handle that tomorrow."

"Yeah, okay. Fine. G'night"

As Elliot disconnected he thought he heard the old man grumble a line of obscenities that ended with smartass kid.
