So, you've reached the end of Let it Go...sorry, I couldn't resist throwing that Cap PSA reference in there. But really, thank you everyone who has read this far and supported this fic. I've had a blast writing Mitty's story and I am so glad that there are so many of you that have stayed here to support me.
I originally had this idea because in the first book of this series, River Morrison is the villain of the story. And I thought, wouldn't it be interesting to see a sibling fic of someone who is widely hated by the public? So, this was born. In my mind at first, River was still going to be a bad guy who just had a soft spot for her brother, but I didn't feel as though that was right. I've always loved River even when she was just portrayed as a heartless bitch, which is why through this fic and my Joe Keery fic (Brooklyn Nights) I've given her a redemption arc.
This is much shorter compared to Love Me Right and Brooklyn Nights because I didn't feel as though there was a need to draw this conflict out. Really, the only conflict was Mitty's issues and how he views himself because of the media. I wanted to see him working through that with the light-heartedness of also pining over Tom. That's why the last Instagram chapter was important. It's finally him letting go of thinking himself a bad guy who is unworthy of love, it's him finally trying to get over those issues. It's also why him talking about therapy was important.
Originally, I wasn't sure in that chapter if I wanted to write any comments for under the post because it is seen that comments weren't disabled but it didn't feel right. I thought it would take away from the monumental feel of him finally saying his piece and moving on from that.
That's what this book is. Mitty finally letting himself be loved and feeling good about himself and who he is.
I love Mitty. I love all the characters here. Thank you to everyone who has stuck around and supported this through its entirety. I love you all as well.
Usually, I give a heads up when the end of a book is coming instead of just saying 'epilogue' and posting the final note, but I decided to give this a little shock. I don't know what you guys thought, if this would go on longer to show the growth of his relationship with Tom, but this was never about getting with Tom or their relationship; this book was about Mitty and I tried to keep it that way. So that's why there was a time jump to give you guys some fluff of them being together before the end. But yes, this is it.
Thank you everyone, I hope if you haven't already that you'll check out Love Me Right and Brooklyn Nights.
I love you all xx
NOTE: some of you guys have seen the whole 'andrew garfield as tom holland' in the introduction, but i'm here to say not to take it seriously. not that any of you...i think. i put it in as a joke because my friend and i thought it was funny
LOVE ME RIGHT.
Oliver Lanning and Timothée Chalamet broke up a year ago due to the Lanning boy's publicist who convinced him that making it big meant finding someone who was more well known. After a year of suffering, he finally fires the woman and fires Timothée's own publicist and is maybe (actually, he totally is) hoping to win back his boy.
BROOKLYN NIGHTS.
Jax Hollingsworth, brother of the famous Evan Hollingsworth, was totally not in love with Joe Keery. Not really, but just enough to badger his friend, Lottie Winters, who works with him on a show for over a year just to get his number. Deciding to act on that immediately, he texts the number and begins to annoy the hell out of the actor using shitty memes and other methods for months. Then, when Evan pleads with Jax to accompany him to a premier and he does. He didn't know that Joe would be there and he didn't know that in the two weeks that he's there with the actor he'd fall for him a bit. But he didn't like what came next.
