Moonlight shone on her grey fur. She pulled her leg closer as she felt something wiggle inside her stomach. She knew what it was. But no one else saw it. She was surprised. No saw how huge her belly was. She knew it was almost time. She looked up. She saw all the stars, and the moon.

So that's "their ancestors"...huh.

She kept staring for a few seconds. Then sharp pain seized her stomach. Her pelt bristled.
