The words rang like loud bells through my ears. Like a tea pot whistling for attention, like an alarm clock on the loudest volume, telling me to wake up. And for the longest time, it had controlled me. But not anymore.
Never again.
"You're too young."
"You're too old."
You're too big."
"You're too small."
"You're not pretty enough."
"You're not strong enough."
"You're not fast enough."
"You're not smart enough."
"You're not--"
Do you know what I said?
I looked them in the eye, with a wide and wicked grin, and said:
"Bitch, watch me."
