Riju was playing with Patricia, her pet sand seal. "Lady Riju! There are three young warriors and two scientists at the gates! They say they want to see you!" shouted Barta, one of the guards. "Let them into town," replied Riju, not getting up.

Barta: "They're all voes, except for one of the scientists. I can't let them in because I have to follow the law. They say they have to speak to you. It's an emergency,"

Riju finally stood up and ran to the Gerudo Town entrance, where she saw Sidon, Robbie, Yunobo, Teba, and Purah. All of them were crying, especially Sidon. "How did it go? Did you defeat Ganondorf?" Riju conquered, looking up at them.
Yunobo nodded. "We did defeat Ganondorf," he whispered, sniffling.
Riju looked puzzled. "...then why are you all crying? That's a good thing! Where are Link and Zelda?"
Yunobo threw two objects on the ground. They were Link's Hylian Shield and Master Sword. Purah released Zelda's heart locket with Link's portrait in it from her hand. And in Sidon's fist were Link's blue earrings.
Riju was speechless for a few seconds. "No way...please tell me this is a lie!" begged she, shaking her head. "It's true. Our beloved Princess and Hero are gone. Once and...for all," Yunobo finally said, breaking down. "Ganondorf trapped them with powerful fire, and Zelda jumped in there to Link...to perish with him. She loved him so much..." whispered Sidon as he wiped his tears.
Riju froze stiff as a statue. "Now we lost all of the Champions and even the Princess! I can't believe this! Hylia, why do you keep doing this to all of us?" she shouted, sobbing loudly. All the other descendants of the Champions began crying harder along with her. Barta just watched as every resident of Gerudo Town walked over to watch what was going on. "What happened?" "Why are they crying so hard?" "Did they fail to defeat Ganon?" "Where's the Princess and Hero?" they asked all at once. Finally, Riju stood up and faced her people. "Attention all my vais! I, Sidon, Yunobo, Teba, Purah, and Robbie have some very depressing and good news. Ganon has been killed, but so have Zelda and Link,"
Everyone gasped of shock. Murmuring started once again: "Link and Zelda are dead?! You've got to be kidding me!!" "Link never fails, what the hell happened this time?!"
"Please stop talking everybody! This is not all!" Riju announced, "a funeral will be held. Since all of Zelda's relatives are dead, including Impa, and Link has no living relatives either, it shall be up to Sidon and the Great Deku Tree to decide, where and when the funeral will be held. The Great Deku Tree and his Highness prince Sidon had a close bond with Link, and Zelda had a very close relationship with Link as well. So when we'll hear the news from the prince of the Zoras, I'll announce the details to you all! Sav'oorq!" Riju then turned around and walked back to the temple with Barta.
Two days later, a funeral was held for the Princess and Hero. The entire kingdom took part in it. "And after all Link has done for us: saved us from the evil Ganon, completed so many side quests for those of you who requested them, risked his life so many times for our beloved Princess Zelda, he and her Highness deserve a peaceful afterlife. May they rest in peace and may Hylia keep them safe," said the priest and closed his sacred book. Everyone watched as Zelda and Link's coffins got lowered into the ground, next to Rhoam, Revali, Daruk, Urbosa and Mipha's graves. "I never got my fifty-five Rushrooms from Link...he promised..." said Pirou, a plain Hylian traveler. "Oh, shut up, voe. You can get them yourself. The Hero did so much for us and died protecting us, and all you care about are your stupid mushrooms. Don't complain," a Gerudo woman responded to him, wiping her tears.
When the funeral was over, Yunobo, Teba, Riju, and Sidon were the last ones standing in front of the gravestones. They stared and stared at the seven graves. The King of Hyrule. The King's daughter. The Champions. They were all dead and gone now. "Rest in peace. You are forever loved, and you'll never be missed. Especially you, Lasy Urbosa. Much love for you...I hope you can hear me," said Riju and headed back to Gerudo Town. "Rest in peace, beloved warriors, your Highness, and your Majesty Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule...you will truly be missed, and we will never forget to teach our future generations about you. Master Revali...I still respect you and you're still my idol. I'm hoping to master Revali's Gale someday and become like you. And I will do everything I could to train Tulin to become like you. Until we meet again at the rainbow bridge," said Teba and flew back to Rito Village.
"Rest in peace, warriors...and Daruk! I still think about you every day and I'm trying my best to make you and the mayor proud of me. I love you, my ancestor. The Gorons still respect you to this day, they often talk about how great you are and...life in Goron City just isn't the same without you, okay?! Stay strong, brother," said Yunobo and rolled off to Goron City.
But Sidon didn't leave. He just stared at Link and Mipha's graves. "Mipha...my sister. Dad and I miss you so much. The whole Zora's Domain does in general. Our youngest generations won't stop asking about you. You were a role model for me, and despite the fact that you have left us, you're still my role model, and you'll never stop being an idol for me. After I followed your examples, I started being more successful in life. Rest in peace, big sis, May Hylia keep you safe," then the prince turned to Link's gravestone. "My best friend Link...you will be forever remembered in Hyrule and we will never forget all the kind things you did for us. You are Hyrule's pride. I hope that ten thousand years from today, legends will talk about you, your kindness, and your amazing feats, and you will be a great role model for the future generations that will learn about you at school, from their parents...I will never accept the fact that my time with you has come to an end. You are, and always will be the best Hylian I've ever met and my best friend. Now get all the rest and freedom you want and deserve. I'll come back someday, brother,"
The Zora prince stood up as turned to leave. After two meters, he looked back at the gravestone. "Don't give up...I believe in you," he whispered and walked back to the Zora's Domain.
