Jungkook clutched tightly onto his letter of acceptance, technically he didn't need it but he wanted to show people that he had proof he was accepted into 방탄 고등학교 (trans: Bangtan High). Just in case the school took a look at him and thought he was too wimpy to actual be apart of the most expensive, but best schools in all of Asia. Bangtan High was actually the only school in Asia that included both Quirk and Quirkless students.

What is a 'quirk'? A quirk wasn't as amazing at it sounded, there are some people born with a specific gene that makes them have a quirk. Jungkook didn't care too much about the biology, he just knew that he was 'gifted' with his quirk. Making him stand out, but also 'cursed' since he possessed—what most people would call—a 'dark' quirk. Jungkook in particular, was a soul manipulator.

He was under the impression that since he got into Bangtan High he'd be able to somehow disguise this ability and be part of the Quirkless students, maybe he'd stick in the shadows. Surely, there wouldn't be any bullies in Bangtan High? People were a lot more civilised in the upper social classes, right?

Jungkook didn't know, he only managed to score a place at Bangtan High because his grades were outstanding. The only reason for that was purely based on the fact that he didn't have a social life, so he spent most days inside and studying. Jungkook didn't mind that. In fact, he kind of liked the idea of school. It was nice to sit in quiet peace and not have people socialize with him.

So there he sat, on a 'private' school bus with other Quirk and Quirkless First years, going to school. Luckily, the school didn't have a dress code because Jungkook did not have the money for new uniform every year. He was good at sewing though, just a quick mention.

He reread the letter over and over during the summer, so happy to attend the best school in all of Asia. But now as he sat in the bus, anxiety loomed over him.

He didn't have time to deal that right now, he was still trying to find out about the school itself. Jungkook shifted in the uncomfortable bus seat and turned around, poking his head out to look at the other First years. He was in one of the 5 school busses heading to the school. Some students were already at school, some going by car. Some even coming in the next day- but Jungkook didn't want to miss out on the induction and tour.

He noticed that none of them were actually in their seats. The other first years were all jumping around, standing up or kneeling in their seats to try and talk to other people. Jungkook sat back down and looked at the driver, he was in the front seats. This was only because he knew that no one else liked those seats. But Jungkook loved them, he like looking through the giant front windows.

Daydreaming was something that Jungkook learnt he was both great and terrible at. It depended on when though. In the middle of a crossing whilst cars are coming at you? No. But in a 4 hour bus journey? Yes, bring it on! Jungkook smiled quietly to himself.
He looked over at the empty seat next to him and made a funny face in the air. He grinned and shook his head looking out of the window. Explaining his Quirk.

So Jungkook can control souls. That's what he does, soul manipulation. It's his forte, it's been his thing since he was born. The easiest way to explain how his quirk works is by watching the Marvel classic, Doctor Strange. Read a comic book, or watch the movie.

Jungkook likes to call his 'soul', his subconscious. The easiest explanation is by saying that everyone has two parts to them. They have their conscious which is their physical being. Hair, body, eyes, features, shadows. Then they have their subconscious or soul which is connected to them.

Jungkook's soul isn't connected to him. Jungkook's soul sits next to him, walks beside him but never in him, like everyone else's. He doesn't actually know the reasoning behind that, but he doesn't want to find out.
