Episode 16: Everybody say hey, ho! Hey-hey-ho!

It's the day of the First Task and the boys have gone over the rules, getting transported to an 'Elemental Mountain' where they have to try and collect crystals and get transported back to the stadium. This will secure a place for the Second Task for them and they need to get that Crystal.

Fighting!

There was moment where Jungkook couldn't actually find out what was wrong about the island. Then, the next thing he knows he was falling in through very quick sand. He gasped out and cried out when he sunk into the soggy mud patch below him, falling behind himself. "Jungkook!" Taehyung called, grabbing the boys armpits and dragging him up. Jungkook gasped out and felt his subconscious sink into the mud. "You're fine- you're-"

Jungkook fell back on the hard ground and tried sucking for air, but couldn't. He put his hand around his neck and tried punching his chest, no air was getting to his lungs. He clawed at the quicksand, "subconscio-" he coughed.

"What's going on?" Hoseok asked.

"His subconscious, it's under the quicksand. We have to get out his subconscious or he'll suffocate!" Taehyung said. The psychokinetic rolled up his sleeves and jumped into the quicksand, immediately sinking in a second. Namjoon rolled Jungkook onto his back, letting the boy get a better airway in through his throat. Jin sat down beside Namjoon, they both looked at each other before Jin started to help Jungkook breath.

Taehyung used his psychokinesis to look into Jungkook's subconscious' brain. He floated around the mass of thoughts, strings of tangled up memories and dark splotches of experience Taehyung had never seen inside the brain of a person before. He could only guess that it was because he was dealing with a soul rather than a full human body. He closed his eyes and used his mind to direct him towards the invisible being in front of him. Taehyung used his psychokinesis to force Jungkook's subconscious to grab him. Taehyung shot his hand out of the muddy water and felt hands around his wrist.

He and Jungkook's subconscious were immediately pulled upwards. Jungkook arched his back and breathed in as much as he could. Falling back on the ground, Jungkook rolled his head to the side to see Taehyung, covered head to toe in mud and his subconscious panting heavily. Jin helped Jungkook stand up whilst Taehyung got up on his own, they all were silent for a moment.

"That was eventful," Yoongi said. Everyone turned their heads to face Yoongi who had a hand over his forehead, to block out the artificial sun, as he looked up at the mountain. "None of us are going to be able to get up that mountain in time. I say we just race for it, whoever gets up there first wins."

"How will that help anyone?" Jimin asked, looking at Yoongi with disbelieving eyes.

Yoongi turned around and looked at Jimin for a moment, "it won't but its' the best chance we have. If anyone gets seriously hurt, then you're automatically transported back to the stadium, whilst the rest of us still have a chance. That way, the team still has a chance of getting to the second task. Plus, not all of us have to be up there, if at least one of us touches the crystal, it's a win for the entire team," Yoongi shrugged.

"What do you think we should do?" Jin looked over at Namjoon.

The leader, looked at Jin with a thoughtful face, "pair up. We'll go our separate ways, but try to get to the mountain as fast as you can. I'll go with Yoongi. Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung. Jin and Hoseok. If you have to separate and leave a member behind, then do it. Our goal is to just get a crystal," Namjoon commanded.

Jungkook nodded and moved to go stand by Taehyung and Jimin. They all split off and started running in different directions. Jungkook didn't know how well this plan was going to be, he didn't hold too much faith. The idea of splitting up did seem like a bad idea, but it wasn't like they were going to get killed, at least it was bright in the day and the only reason anyone was on the island was to touch a crystal. Still, the idea of wanting to split up, just to get to a crystal first? Jungkook didn't even know how to control his powers properly, he looked around to see half his team already gone and continued running with Jimin and Taehyung. There was no going back now.
