Katie sat in her room. Her parents were both working on emergency surgeries. Chris had recently gotten a job at a grocery store, so he was at work. It was just her and her little peanut.

She closed her eyes, stroking circles on her slightly noticeable baby bump. Becoming pregnant had been one of the worst things to ever happen to her, but also one of the best.

"Your daddy and I are going to look for a crib for you soon. I think we're going to go with white. I hope that's okay with you.. Also, if you could just hide for a little bit longer, that'd be great." So far, no one had noticed her pregnancy, but people were going to start noticing, fast. She was 20 weeks, halfway there. "And if you could not be so stubborn next time at the doctor's, that would be spectacular. I want to see what gender you are, bug."

She opened her eyes when she heard the door shut. "Your daddy's home." She smiled, getting off the bed.

She wrapped her arms around him as he walked in. "Hey." She smiled, hugging him tight.

"Hey." He said, kissing her hair. "What have you been doing?" He asked.

"Hmm.. We ate chips and watched game shows. Then we talked in my room. Nothing much." She said, looking up at him.

Chris loved the way she said 'we.' "You talked?" He asked.

"Mhm. About the crib, and how he/she shouldn't be so stubborn." She grinned, subconsciously placing her hand on her stomach. "Oh, and about how I don't want it getting too big yet... I'm not ready yet."

Chris grabbed some food from the fridge. "Kate, you're 20 weeks. It's a blessing no one has seen it yet. It's inevitable."

Katie plopped down on the couch. "Yeah, I know. But everyone's going to get a kick out of the pregnant 16 year old."

"Who cares what they think? We're going to have a kid!" He said. That was one thing Katie loved about him. He could make good out of any situation.

The next day, Katie was lying on the exam table, Chris' hand in hers. She didn't want her parents there, so they stood out in the hall.

Arizona walked in with an ultrasound. "I have a good feeling about today. I think we'll see that gender finally." She squeezed the gel on Katie's stomach. Arizona furrowed her brows at how tiny she was for 20 weeks, but brushed it off for now.

Katie and Chris' eyes were glued to the screen. Tears were already forming in Katie's eyes when the image popped up.

Arizona started with the heartbeat, which was perfect. Arizona looked around to make sure everything was good with the baby, which it was. She gasped when she got a glimpse of the gender. "Okay, you're sure you want to know?" She asked.

Both of them nodded, ecstatic to know.

"Congratulations on your baby girl!" She smiled, tears even coming to her own eyes.

"A girl?" Katie asked, covering her mouth with her hand. Her whole world stopped. It was all feeling so real. In 4 1/2 months she'd be holding a baby girl, her baby girl. She sobbed into Chris' shoulder. Nothing meant more to her than her baby girl.

Chris held her tight. "We're having a daughter, Kate." He whispered, wiping his own tears.

Arizona stepped out for a second, allowing the two some privacy.

"What's going on??" Alex asked, ready to bust in the room. He thought something had gone wrong.

"They're really happy over your granddaughter." She smiled, crossing her arms over her chest.

Alex's eyes widened, looking over to Jo. "Granddaughter.." He said, in shock. Jo jumped into his arms, smiling. "We're having a granddaughter!" She shouted, not caring a bit about her surroundings.

Arizona walked in after a few minutes. "Okay. Everything looks great.. Hey, Katie, can I talk to you in private for a second?" She asked.

Katie nodded, letting Chris walk out. "Is everything okay?" She asked, sitting up.

"Everything's great. I was just a tad concerned about how little she is.. She should be a little bigger for 20 weeks. I just want to make sure you're eating the proper amount and taking you're prenatal vitamins and all.." She said.

Katie bit her cheek. It was no lie she'd laid off on some of her meals. The thought of her entire school knowing about her still gave her shivers.

Arizona softly sighed. She sat down Katie's chart and wheeled over to her. "I know it's scary. Hell, I'm sure it's terrifying. You got through the hard part. Your parents know now. Who the hell cares what high schoolers think? You won't remember half of them by the time she's two. I need you to promise me you'll eat more. You're going to start hurting your baby."

Katie wiped her tears that flowed down her cheeks. "I already suck at this. I can't even keep her healthy and she's not even born yet."

"Hey, hey, she is healthy. She's doing great, but if you keep this up she's not going to be. You can do this and I know damn well you can. Just think about what's more important to you: your social status or your baby." She said, handing her a tissue.

Katie calmed herself down. Arizona was right. She needed to wake up and realize her priorities. She was going to better herself.
