Hiya I'm sick and bored as hell, so here we are. P.S. I was rereading this and it's EMBARRASSING what was going on in my mind... 😳
Katie woke to the sound of yelling. The Karev's household was not a 'yelling' type of household. It was a couple and a pregnant 16 year old with her boyfriend. Half of the time they weren't even home, and when they were, they were sleeping.
"I want you out!" Katie heard her father yell. She jumped out of bed, fearing who he was talking to. If it was her mother, she couldn't handle a divorce, not now. If it was Chris, she wouldn't know what to do with herself. Either way, she was terrified as to what she would find down there. Maybe he was sleepwalking. That's what she hoped at least.
Katie sprinted down the stairs, seeing her father's face red with fury. In front of him was Chris, holding his head in his hands. "What the hell's going on??" She asked, flustered.
"You. Get upstairs. Now." Alex demanded, pointing to the stairs.
"Not until you tell me what the hell is happening in here. Where's mom??" She asked, pretty close to freaking out.
"Work. Katie, get upstairs." He said, taking his tone down at least one notch.
"No.. You still haven't told me what's going on." She said, sitting down next to Chris.
"Chris, why don't you explain?" Alex suggested, crossing his arms.
"I swear, Kate. I-I didn't mean it." He stuttered.
"Just spit it out already!" She shouted, getting fed up with all of this.
"I.. borrowed some money. From your parents." He admitted. "I didn't have gas money. I just need a little."
Katie sighed. She knew her father would overreact. He always did when it came to her. "How much did you take?" She asked, rubbing her temples with her fingertips.
"150." He answered, staring at the hardwood floor.
Katie let out a sharp breath of air. $150 wasn't much to her family. Both of her parents were doctors, it didn't take much to get that. But she knew how Alex felt about Chris. He was starting to warm up to him, but one mistake could ruin everything. "Look, I'll talk to him. But why didn't you just ask, Chris??" She asked, feeling betrayed.
"I was embarrassed. I didn't want to have to come to my girlfriend for money. That's pathetic." He answered.
"What's pathetic is stealing money from my parents and leaving me to clean up the mess." She snapped. "Just stay here."
Katie walked into the kitchen, dragging her dad with her.
"He's not staying here." He stated.
"And where's he going to go??" She asked. "He doesn't have a home."
"I don't know, but it won't be here."
"Yes, it will. Look, he screwed up. I know, but making this huge deal about it is just making it worse. You know damn well you and mom make 150 without a problem." She defended. "I'll make sure he pays you back, but he's not leaving here. If he leaves, I leave too."
"I'll talk to your mom. This isn't okay, Katie. You know how I feel about all of this."
"And it's reality, dad! I can't do anything about it! I can't reverse a pregnancy. It's happening, accept it!" She shouted, stomping up to her room, tears welling in her eyes.
Alex shook his head as Katie stormed out. He opened the front door, motioning for Chris to go. "You should leave."
