Katie opened her locker, putting her chemistry textbook at the top. She turned to see Sierra rush up to her.

"A girl?!" She asked excitedly. "My mom told me all about it!"

Katie widened her eyes. "Shut up!" Sierra was way too loud in the hall. "You have to keep your mouth shut." No one knew she was pregnant. The oversized sweatshirts were the only thing hiding that anymore.

"I'm not trying to hurt your feelings here, but people are going to find out, Katie." She said, walking with her to history.

"I get that." She huffed. That's all she'd heard for the past 23 weeks. "When it happens, it happens. But no one knows yet, so just keep quiet."

Katie sat in history, trying to ignore the weird feeling in her stomach. She raised her hand to go to the bathroom, only to get rejected by her teacher because she 'left during class too much.'

She put her hand on her stomach. At this point, she didn't care. Something felt different, she was going to figure it out. She bit her cheek to hold back tears when she felt itty bitty kicks coming from the inside.

She held back a smile, keeping her hand on her stomach. This was the best feeling in the world.

After class, Katie and Sierra made their way to lunch. "Are you okay? You were smiling like an idiot in there." Sierra commented.

"Give me your hand." Katie said, holding her hand out.

Sierra hesitantly have her her hand. He confused look deepened when Katie put her hand on her stomach.

"She's kicking." She smiled. "Like actually full on kicking."

Sierra grinned, despite all of the weird glances the two were getting. "That's awesome!"

Katie happily sat at their table, eating with the one hand, while the other stayed glued to her belly.

School always seemed to drain her energy. She fell asleep on the car ride home with Chris, and practically passed out on the couch when she got home.

Chris tried to have conversation with her about school, which was useless. But the second he brought up the baby, she was wide awake.

"She's asleep right now, I'm pretty sure, or she's just staying still. But she was kicking today." She smiled, as wide as ever. "Like to the point where everyone could feel it. It was the best thing ever."

Chris grinned as he listened to her. She was so insanely excited about this he couldn't help but smile.

Katie laid her head back down on shoulder. He seemed happy, but something was different. She just couldn't put her finger on it.
