The Greene's farm

Awhile later
Night as come and we are still driving.Didn't their farm will be this far.I turn my head and see Clementine looking at me.I smile then she smile then we stare the road ahead.We haven't seen those monster since we got out of town,hope we don't bump into one in the road again.I don't think I got enough strong to go on with this wounded leg.We take a turn to the field then drive through it and enter the farm and stop next to another pickup truck.We all get out.

Chet:"Hey,Shawn...I'm a' run on home.My mama's gonna be in a snit."

Shawn:"No sweat,man.I'll catch you tomorrow night."

Chet look at us.

Chet:"It was nice to meet ya both."

I wave then he leaves.A door open and a old man comes out.

???:"Thank god,you're ok."

The man and Shawn walk towards each other.

Shawn:"I was worried it'd be bad here,too."

They hug.

???:"Been quiet as usual the past couple days.Ol' Breckon down the way thinks his mare's gone lame but that ain't nothing new."

Shawn:"I wouldn't have made it back without Chet."

???:"Well,I'm glad you took him with you then."Me and Clementine walk towards them."You've brought a couple guests."

Me:"Your boy's a lifesaver."

???:"Glad he could be of help to someone.So it's just you and your daughter then."

Shawn:"Oh,not his daughter,he's the babysitter."

???:"Honey,"He knee down."do you know this man?"

Clementine:"Yes."

???:"Ok then.Well,"He stands up."looks like you hurt your leg pretty bad there."

Me:"Yeah,it's not doing so good."

???:"I can help you out.Shawn,run on in and check on your sister.You,take a seat up on the porch and I'll go see what I have."We walk to the porch and I sit down on the bench.The old man comes back with something in his hand."Let's have a look."He knee down and look at it closely."Yeah,this is swollen to hell."

Me:"It hurts like hell."

???:"I bet it does.What'd you say your name was?"

I didn't mention it,but it will be rude if we don't know each other.

Me:"It's Lee."

???:"Nice to meet you,Lee.I'm Hershel Greene."He start wrapping my wound.God it hurts."How'd this happen?"

Me:"Car accident."

If we need to rest here I need to tell the truth,who knows if Hershel can detect lies.

Hershel:"That so.Where were you headed?Before the car accident?"

I don't need to tell him the full truth.

Me:"I was getting out of Atlanta."

Hershel:"The news says stay."

There was police cars and helicopter going to Atlanta.And there was one of those things outside,if they were out who knows how many were in.

Me:"Yeah,well that's a mistake.We hit a guy,one of those things you've been hearing about,on the road."

Hershel:"Who were you with,the girl?"

Me:"I was with a police officer.He was giving me a ride."

Hershel:"Awful nice of him."

Yeah,yeah he was.
