-20 YEARS LATER-
I sigh and glance at the clock. "Boys! Get up, you're both going to be late!"
Once I've finished up on breakfast I rush upstairs. I open my son's door. "Liam, oh my gosh, get out of bed. You're late."
He groans, "I'm tired." I pull the covers off from him "Me too." H glares at me and I smile. "Come on, let's go."
I then make my way to my bedroom. I fold my arms as soon as I see Brandon lying in bed on his cellphone.
"Seriously!" He glances up at me, "Morning my love. You look stunning. How did you sleep?" I raise one eyebrow before turning on my heel and walking downstairs.
I grab my purse and my coat. Brandon grabs my waist as I protests. "I need to get to work. You two are on your own."
He spins me around and kisses me. I push him off, "Brandon, I'm being serious."
He sighs and places his forehead against mine. "I know, I'm sorry. I love you." I crack a smile, "I love you too."
"Agh mom, dad, save the PDA for later. By later, I mean when I'm not here." Brandon chuckles, "You ready for school?"
He runs his hand through his hair, "Yeah, I guess." I smile, "It's your first day of being a sophomore!"
He nods, "Yeah, it's a bit terrifying." I smile and walk away from Brandon. "Aww, come here." Liam stares at me. I roll my eyes, "A hug would be much appreciated, I'm about to leave. Brandon get dressed, as you're taking him."
Brandon nods before dashing upstairs and I hug Liam. He smiles, "You look really pretty today." I smile, "Thank you."
-At Work-
Sarah is on maternity leave, so I am in charge. Work has been extremely stressful, but enjoyable.
"Miranda, I'm quickly going on a lunch break. Can I get you anything?" She smiles, "I'm good here, thanks Savannah." I nod, "Alright then, call me if you need anything."
Once I've eaten lunch I stop by the flower shop. I tend to drive around for new clothing inspiration.
But today I decided to stop by the flower shop. Once I've purchased the flowers, I make my way to the graveyard.
I smile as I make my way to my parent's grave. The last time I've been here was six months ago. I place the bouquet of roses down in front of it.
I sigh, "Mom, dad, the therapy has worked. She told me that I don't need it anymore. Today is Liam's first year of his sophomore year. I miss you both so much, but I'm surviving."
I then make my way over to Emma's grave. I place down some roses. "Here's Liam's chance at High School. His smart, sweet and kind. He keeps me in check. I miss you, but I know you're in a better place."
-At Home-
Once I've placed dinner down on the table. I smile at Liam. "How was school, love?" He smiles, "Loved it. I find myself leaning more towards the science and maths side of it all."
Brandon smiles, "That's my son." I roll my eyes, "I'm glad that you're finding your feet." Liam smiles, "I mean, to top it all off there were some really good looking tenth graders were checking me out."
Brandon smiles, "Did you get any numbers?" I glance at Brandon, "Well Liam, I want you to focus on your academics."
Brandon gives me the look and I sigh, "But don't forget to have fun." Liam smiles, "I know mom. I've got it all balanced out."
I smile and nod.
-Later-
Liam is up in his room while Brandon and I are on the couch.
I hear Brandon laugh, "Wow, finally." I furrow my eyebrows as he hands me his phone.
I smile, "Thomas and Kim are expecting their first baby." Brandon laughs, "Good luck to them. Especially Tom." I chuckle, "Nah, Kim will put him on his place. She will sort it all out. He'll be a good father, I mean look how you turned out."
He chuckles, "You're right, I turned out great." I smile at him. "Yes, indeed."
