About eight months later

Hoseok felt stressed and anxious, he wasn't quite sure why, but he was. He couldn't even sleep his chest felt so tight which wasn't normal. He sat up, glancing at Jimin sleeping soundly on the other side of the room. Hoseok picked looked at the clock on his nightstand.

4 a.m

Hoseok pushed himself out of bed and changed into work out clothes, and he left the apartment to head to the gym. Usually, he went to the gym with Jungkook, Namjoon, or Yoongi, but Yoongi and Jungkook would probably chuck him out the window if he woke them up, and Namjoon wouldn't even wake up.

Hoseok looked at his phone; if it was four in Korea it was around noon where Lily was, he hadn't gotten a text from her for the past two days. It wasn't that big of a deal, when she was taking classes she didn't always find time to respond to him, but then he knew why she wasn't responding. Now, she just randomly disappeared. He scrolled through their past messages, wondering if he said anything wrong. It didn't seem like it; he had just congratulated her on getting into the medical school she wanted to. Lily did say she was going to take a trip to it soon, but whenever she did something like that she took pictures.

Hoseok unlocked the door to the gym that was located at the bottom of the apartment building, it was empty, which meant he didn't have to worry about being judged by anyone. He walked over to the mirror that was at the back of the gym. He scrolled through his phone to look for a song, giving up he just hit the shuffle button.

In the last 24 hours, Lily had not only lost her luggage, her phone, and herself, but also her mind. She knew going to a new country would be challenging, but she also thought she had an advantage because she was great at planning and she spoke Korean pretty darn well.

Lily plopped herself down on a park bench, regretting all her decisions. The main reason she even was in Korea was to study medicine for a year or two. She came a few months before the school semester so she could, maybe, probably not, hang out with Hoseok.

Over the past eight months, Lily and Hoseok had been talking on Kakao. Lily continued to send letters to him, but Kakao was a more convenient natural way to communicate. Though with the time differences it wasn't as easy, at least Hoseok responded.

It was late May; Lily had saved enough money to not only spend two years of doing school in Korea but also to spend a summer. It probably wasn't very ideal though because she read online that Korea had scorching summers. But, she wanted to be sure she had a chance to meet up with Hoseok or to at least surprise him.

He didn't know she was in Korea. Lily wanted to keep it that way just for a while, but she wasn't sure how she could just magically run into him. Maybe it could happen, after all, she did happen upon lucky encounters with Hoseok. Just getting his Kakao was pretty magical.

Lily pulled out her wallet, which was luckily one of the only things she hadn't misplaced. She remembered passing by a few pay phones; perhaps she could use one to call her cell. Before she lost it, she had bought an international calling card, so maybe she could call her phone.

The only problem was it was so hot, Lily pretty much dragged her feet as she went looking for the pay phone, and about 25 minutes later, which felt longer, she found one.

Lily shoved a few won into the phone and pushed her cell phone number in on the sticky keypad. She didn't trust the pay phone, mainly because it was pretty banged up. Can pay phones even call cell phones? Lily thought. In her 25 years of life, she had never used one. She never even saw, though to be fair she was never in the city.
