Jimmy Iovine's office October 1st 1981
"Well after they get off this damn tour we can discuss the next album with her, but for now she's got enough on her plate"
"Come on Jimmy that's lame even for you"
"Scarlet I'm not sure what else to tell you. She's carrying Fleetwood Mac right, do you think they'd be selling out stadiums if she decided to pull a Lindsey and leave the group?"
"I think you know more than you're telling me about what happened. I thought we had a deal-"
"We HAD a deal, yes. And you got what you wanted, you got to print your little article and I gave you enough dirt to bury Lindsey six feet under. You're the one who couldn't go all the way"
"I-It would have backfired the public took Stevie's side and Tom didn't help by denying the affair in front of millions of people"
"As I told you he would. He was in love with her, he wouldn't do anything to hurt her. Tom wanted Stevie fair and square, no tricks"
"Not like you"
"I don't know what you mean"
"You know exactly what I mean, getting Lindsey out of the way benefits you too."
"Just because I think the guy's poison for Stevie's career-"
"No, no, no, Jimmy. It's more then that. I've seen you look at her when you think nobody is watching"
"Good old Scarlet, always sticking your nose were it doen't belong"
"Yeah good old me. Now, spill. What's really going on with Lindsey?"
"He's sick, something to do with his epilepsy"
"Horseshit"
"Drop it"
"Not on your life"
"You're starting to sound as obsessed with Lindesy as your sister was with Javier"
"Half-sister...from the wrong side of the bed sheets."
"Oh that's right, you're daddy's little wartime indiscretion"
"Fuck off"
"I thnk I hit the nail on the head, you're jealous. Jealous because Sandra got to screw Lindsey and he hates your guts. What's wrong? Hoping he'd fall head over heels with you like he did with your little sister"
"Shut up"
"It's really pathetic Scarlett. You are really pathetic"
"Says the geek in love with a woman way out of his league"
"She's married to Lindsey, no one is out of her league. Maybe Don Henley"
"You're stalling"
"And you're starting to get on my last nerve, there's nothing else we need to discuss. We both benefited from our little arrangement. Your rag's sales have tripled, and you have your own byline. Lindsey's no longer holding Stevie back as a solo artist and he's no longer stressing her out by being in Fleetwood Mac. Win, win situation"
"I still have plenty left to print..."
"No Scarlett you don't. In fact I want you to lay off Stevie, if you still want to dog Buckingham that's up to you but nothing about Stevie. Are we clear?"
"I think that's up to my editor"
"No, that's up to me. Don't push me"
"Or what?"
