ALINA'S POV

They all collectively turned towards the sound of the new voice. Three people were standing on a small hill, the sun rising behind them. With relief and then shock, Alina realised she recognised them. How many reincarnations are there on this island, she wondered.

"Katelyn? Travis? Garroth?" Aaron looked shocked.

They are who I remember then, Alina thought. Katelyn had been her mother's guard and close friend. Garroth had also been a  guard and close friend, as well as having looked after Alina and her sister when they were little. Travis had been the son of the demon warlock, and a descendant of Enki.

Alina noticed that Zane and Kawaii-Chan had moved away from the newcomers, and for the first time saw the bandage on Kawaii-Chan's chest. Did one of them cause it?

"Hello Alina." Travis cooed in a strangely familiar voice.

"You aren't Travis." She narrowed her eyes.

"No. I am not. But he provides a wonderful host, doesn't he?"

"If you say so."

"Oh, and little Lizzie is here too. What a surprise."

Lizzie moved forward, pulling Alina behind her.

"Is it?" She mocked, "You've lost your touch then little demon."

"I am no little demon."

"Well, you are a big pain in the butt." LIzzie smirked.

"You dare mock me!"

"What are you going to do about it demon?"

"He isn't a demon." Aaron defended him.

"Oh look who it is. The Ultima." Travis purred, "This is just too perfect."

"What do you want?" Alina scowled.

"I want to go back to my dimension, and I want to rule all of them."

"Yeah, not happening." Lizzie assured him.

"Why not? I have the upper hand. I have hostages, you have the ability to open the portal to any dimension you wish."

"Hostages?" Lizzie raised an eyebrow.

"These two." Travis gestured at Garroth and Katelyn.

"Ah."

"They are under my control. Silly of their parents, really, placing a forever potion on them."

"See, we can remedy that." Lizzie chuckled.

"What? No you can't!"

"Alina?"

"Did I do something wrong again?" Alina sighed.

"No. I need you to think of this. Your mother taught you many different forms of magicks, including those dealing with memory and the mind."

"She did." Alina nodded.

"Consider this. Both of these supposed 'hostages', were once bound to you, or your mother."

A look a realisation flitted across Alina's face.

"What are you talking about?" Travis growled, "Grab them!"

Katelyn and Garroth launched into action. Katelyn reached them first, and Alina stepped in front of Lizzie. She only briefly considered Katelyn's extraordinary strength before she grabbed her wrist. Katelyn stopped, shocked, and just looked at her. Her eyes were an unnatural bright green.

"Katelyn." Alina said, speaking with the conviction of which she usually had spoken to her guards, "This is not you. Not natural."

"What are you doing!" Travis screeched.

Alina ignored him, just taking a deep breath, readying herself for the amount of magical energy she was about to use.

"Katelyn. You were once a loyal guard of Phoenix Drop. Of my mother. Of me. You bound yourself to us. And now, I call upon you to fulfil your duties." Alina felt her eyes begin to glow with an unearthly light, but kept going, "I call upon you to return to us, to me, to Irene."

Katelyn's eyes begun to glow as well, but then it faded, and the green had returned to a normal green-blue colour.

"Alina." She whispered gravely.

Alina felt her spirits rise. Maybe Katelyn would remember her, and that would make all of it worth it. But, her luck wouldn't allow it.

"Who are you?" Katelyn shook herself.

Alina's shoulders slumped.

"No!" Travis yelled.

"Travis?" Katelyn looked at him.

"What did you do!"

"I returned her to her senses." Alina replied, her gaze trained on the ground so he couldn't see the weakness in her eyes.

"Alina." Lizzie murmured.

"Yes."

"You knew that it was only a possible outcome. The chances of her remembering you are about one in a million."

"I know."

"You still have me, and Willow, and Jasper."

"But that's all I have."

Lizzie stayed silent for a moment.

"Do you remember when I first met you?"

"Why would you ask that?"

"But do you remember?"

"Yes. My mother had just come back from Enki Island, and she immediately came to the sacred forest. Me and Lilith were with Hyria on the front porch, and she recognised you. She ran and hugged you, and then you came back to us. I asked you who you were, and you said, 'I am your aunt, little ones. You do not know who I am yet, but I hope you will soon. There will come a time that your mother will no longer walk this realm, but I will. I have for thousands of years, and will continue to do so for many more. I will always be there for you, no matter what'."

"Have I lived up to that promise?"

"Yes," Alina looked up at Lizzie, "For me you have. You might need to ask Lilith for her opinion though. I do not speak for her."

"Remind me to do that the next time I see her." Lizzie chuckled.

"That won't be for while."

"I wouldn't be so sure of that."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you weren't the only one who returned to this world within the past twenty four hours."
