APHMAU'S POV

As soon as she processed what Lizzie had just said, she felt like every muscle in her body was freezing up. She let out a small gasp and moved closer to Aaron. He wrapped his arms around her. Katelyn looked like she had gone straight past upset and crossed into enraged. It seemed like it was taking every ounce of her strength not to slap someone. To Aphmau's surprise, Lizzie looked like she was amused at their reactions. She knew she probably shouldn't think of someone who seem so much younger than her the way that she did, but she did. Lizzie may be on the right side, but that didn't necessarily mean she was a good person. She seemed to take so much joy out of people's reactions to bad news, and Jasper and Willow just stood by and let it happen. Although it did make her wonder, what had happened to Lizzie to make her who she was?

"Listen," Lizzie said soothingly, "We'll try to figure out a way to seperate the body and the spirit, but there's no guarantee. And even if that succeeds it could have serious consequences."

Katelyn's face was red, but she didn't say anything.

"I guess it's the best we can do." Lucinda answered for her.

"It is." Lizzie assured her, "Now. Before we can so much as keep him in one place, we need more power."

"You mean like more people?" Aaron asked.

"No. I mean we need to find the relics."

"The relics?" Aphmau said doubtfully.

"Yes. The ones that belonged to the original divine warriors. Only with their help can we hope to have enough power to take down an enemy as old as the Demon Warlock."

"Well, how do we find them?" Lucinda demanded.

Lizzie was silent, and it took them a while to realise that it was because she was staring at Lilith and Alina. They both seemed uncomfortable, especially Alina.

"What?" Aphmau asked, oblivious.

"We go grave digging." Alina replied after a long moment.

"In whose graves?" Katelyn ventured, an odd look on her face.

"The last people to wield the relics were in my time. When they -we- died we had to ensure that the relics would stay with our bodies, and not fall into the wron hands." Alina explained.

"When you say 'we', do you mean...?" Aphmau began.

Alina nodded.

"I was one of the last divine warriors. My grave contains Shad's relic. I get to dig up my own grave." She said heavily.

"I'm sorry." Aphmau offered, although she wasn't sure what she was sorry for.

"It's fine." Alina shrugged it off.

"Who else?" Lucinda inquired.

"Who else what?" Lilith frowned.

"Who else was a divine warrior then?"

Alina bit her lip.

"What is it?" Lucinda snapped, "It can't be worse than digging up your own grave, right?"

"Actually it can." Alina admitted.

They all stared at her.

"The thing is, a lot of you are doppelgängers."

"What's that?" Aphmau wondered.

"It means we look and act the same as another person, often from the past, and occasionally you share their name." Lucinda explained, "But how many of us are doppelgängers?"

"You, Aphmau, Aaron, Katelyn, Garroth, Travis-" Alina began, but Lucinda cut her off.

"I think we get the idea."

"Garroth and Travis. Their doppelgängers were both divine warriors. And so was..." Lilith trailed off.

"Who?" Lucinda asked, seeming very tired of having to forcefully continue the conversation.

"Aphmau." Lilith muttered.

"Oh." Aphmau mumbled, realising that meant she might as well be digging up her own grave.

"What about the last two?" Aaron coaxed, trying to change the subject.

"Only one of them has a doppelgänger." Alina answered.

"But who are they?" Aaron repeated.

"Liochant and," Alina paused for a long moment, "Katelyn."

A/N- Dun, dun, dun! They get to go grave digging! Sorry about the wait, I start at a brand new school TOMORROW, and I'm trying my best not to think about it, but I've been really stressed about it. Anyway, enjoy and thanks for reading!
Also, thank you guys so so much for over 1.9K reads! It's amazing to think that that many people have read something I've written. I could say thank you for the next year and it wouldn't come close to how thankful I am.
