APHMAU'S POV

The group split up shortly after landing on the Celestial Cannon. Aphmau was alone with Lizzie, a fact that honestly scared her, because the girl was scary. She might have technically been Aphmau's little sister, but she was still a several thousand year old Divine being, however crazy that sounded.

The chances of them finding the Demon Warlock were so slim that Aphmau could say she was honestly surprised when Lizzie grabbed her from behind and clamped a hand over her mouth so she would be silent.

"He's here." Lizzie hissed in her ear.

Aphmau's eyes widened and she glanced around.

"Where?" She muttered as best she could, "Can't see him."

"I can sense him. He's near."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Aphmau asked quietly, wiggling free of Lizzie's grasp.

"That's my sister." Lizzie said with a smirk.

Aphmau's face fell.

"Maybe we should wait then?" She suggested hestitantly.

"Too late now, Sister."

Lizzie crept forward, her hand on the sword attached to her belt. It was only now Aphmau began to consider how ridiculous they must look. Her in the clothes she had literally come back to life in, and Lizzie in silver medieval armour.

"There he is." Lizzie breathed softly, peering around the corner.

Aphmau shied back, clearly not wanting to see her adversary at full power. They both froze as the cannon began to rumble.

"No!" Lizzie exclaimed quietly, "No, no, he can't."

"What? What is it?"

"They're turning the cannon on again." Lizzie replied as the roaring grew louder.

"To do what?" Aphmau asked fearfully.

"Take the souls of every person still on the ground. He'll be practically invincible."

"Practically?"

"Well, nothing and no one is ever truly invincible, it just depends on how far you're willing to go to kill them."

"And how far are you willing to go?"

"He destroyed my life, caused the death of my sister more than once." Lizzie answered, without really answering the question.

"So all the way." Aphmau whispered.

"I can't give up now."

"And Travis?"

"Like I said, in every war there is collateral damage."

"This isn't some building Lizzie, okay? It's a living person."

"Who happens to be the host of the most dangerous creature in this dimension."

"This dimension?"

"Long story. But look, we don't have time for petty squabbles. We have to act now, before..."

Lizzie trailed off, the look on her face indicating what the sudden silence of the cannon meant.

"He's done it, hasn't he?"

"Yes," Lizzie muttered, "We have to act now."

And without waiting another moment, Lizzie charged out of her hiding place. I followed reluctantly, thinking that this was definitely a bad idea, but following her lead anyway.
