I was bouncing on the balls of my feet as I vert impatiently waited in my office for KC to finally send in Kong. It had taken me over a week to set up my not so elaborate plan and now I had to finally set it in motion. And every single day in that past week did I keep getting new information attesting to why this plan was so essential. When I finally heard the soft knock on the door with Kong asking for permission to enter, I quickly took my seat behind my desk and picked up some random papers with the pretense of being hard at work.

"Come in."

"You wanted to see me, sir?"

"Sir? Oh gosh call me that the day I get knighted by the queen. Which, I feel has a very low chance of ever happening. Till then people call me Arthit and so shall you. Got it?"

"You wanted to see me, Arthit?"

"Better. And yeah I did. Sit"

He took the seat across from me in the same tentative manner, and since this was one of the very few times I have had a direct conversation with him, I managed to notice that he had a very hard time holding my gaze for an extended period of time. Every so often he would either just look past me, or simply lower his head. That sort of body language is going to majorly hinder him in his future success. I filed away this information in my head to be addressed sometime in the near future.

"Did you hear we fired all the firms responsible for market research for the upcoming launch?"

"Yeah, I heard about it yesterday."

"We think since they were doing such a bad job and you were doing all the work anyway it wasn't fair they get the money or the credit. We want you to lead the market research for the next launch until we find better consultants and our company will split the difference with you of what they were getting paid. What do you think about it?"

"Ok"

Woah! calm down Kong. Don't bring down the roof with all this excitement now.

Hopefully the next thing I say will bring out a better reaction.

"Since you haven't formally ever taken on such a huge task I think it would be advisable if I were more intimately involved with your work for this project, if that's ok with you."

"Uh...I...yeah. I think it...makes sense."

"Good, good. I will get someone to move your desk then. I am excited for us to work closely together. This will be fun."

And immediately his head snapped up, eyes wide, mouth slightly parted in shock.. Just the response I was looking forward to.

"Wh...what? Move my desk? Where?"

"In here of course. We can help each other a lot more if we remain in constant contact."

"I sit right outside. We can catch up anytime you want. I can give you daily updates. I don't really need to move in your office."

"I am sure you can manage just fine on your own, but this is more of a way to give me the opportunity to learn by watching you. You won't deprive me of the chance to understand how you weave the magic in your reports will you?"

"Bu...but..I..."

"Is there a problem?"

I know it might be a dick move to pull out the I am your boss move so early on in our experiment but I have noticed the man in action before, and if I left it to him to make any moves we would be stuck at the same position all eternity. So whenever he would need a push, I would be willing to shove with all my might.

"No, uh...no problem."

"Good. Do you need help to pack up your desk?"

He simply shook his head and walked out in a slow, dejected manner, which was partly comical. I guess it is time we discover if the man can live up to and even exceed my expectations.
