If someone was really desperate they would do anything to protect what they care about.
When you can no longer run and are backed into a corner the only option is to turn into a monster. What happens when the monster takes complete control over their host? Will they forget what they were so desperate to protect? What happens when the monster leaves? Will the host relies what they had just done? Would they even be able to understand what they did before they loose all since of reality?
These thoughts were very common for her. No one else would understand. She understood that her choices would come back for payment. Consider it like a loan; she takes a little but she must always pay it back. However, most the time it's not a fair trade. But she doesn't care. As long as she can save the people she loves, she will be satisfied.
Fate or destiny are very abstract concepts. No human could ever hope to truly understand it. However, some unlikely and possibly unwanted miracles can occur. An illness can be cured, star crossed lovers can get their happy ending, or someone could be given the chance to repent for their sins.
She will give her life to accomplish her goal. No matter what she will get them.....
