Chapter 34: The Prom Date

Galvan POV

Naiinis ako sa sarili ko. I think I made Celine uncomfortable with my presence.

Kaya ba siya magtatransfer ulit?

"Chan," Kristen is with me.

After the Jayden's birthday party at our hospital, Kristen and I went to my unit.

"Why are you still treating me as a friend? You knew my plan. You knew I like you," she's always the same.

I smiled at her.

"I can't lose a best friend like you. You said you're my first love," she hold my hands.

"Then be my boyfriend," ginulo ko ang buhok niya.

She's into this again.

"I already told you Kristen. I like Celine. No. I love Celine. I can't just give her up," she sat on the sofa.

"You're hurting me by saying that Chan. Anyway, mauna na ko," she get her bag and left.

I want to call Celine but I have to stop myself. I need to give her space.

Celine POV

Ayoko na talaga. Mababaliw na ata ako kakaisip sa sinabi ni Kristen sa akin. Pati si Galvan hindi rin pinapatahimik ang isip ko.

I feel so guilty.

I want to call him and apologize. Gusto kong bawiin ang sinabi ko.

Saturday and Sunday had passed. Monday na. May pasok na. But I can't find Galvan.

"Are you looking for Chan?" umupo sa harap ko si Kristen.

Nasa canteen kasi kami ngayon. Kasama ko sila Kaye at Em.

"He attended a seminar regarding the student government at Tagaytay. Oh my God! Hindi mo ba alam?!" she pissing me off again.

Hindi ko na lang siya pinansin. Gusto ko pa naman magsorry sa sinabi ko sa kanya. Huwag na lang pala.

"Sabagay you pushed him away to be with Jayden," natigilan ako sandali.

"Let's talk," I grabbed her hand and dragged her to the girl's CR.

"Let me go!" binitawan ko ang kamay niya.

"Walang kinalaman si Jayden sa pagsabi ko kay Galvan na magtatransfer ako. Pwede ba Kristen tigilan mo na ako. Sawang-sawa na akong makikipagbangayan sayo. Oo na ikaw na ang panalo," pinigilan ko ang sarili kong hindi maiyak.

"Hangga't gusto ka ni Chan hindi ako titigil Celine. I hate you this much," ano bang nagawa ko sa kanya?

"Then hate me if that's what will make you happy," I'm about to leave when...

"Hating you doesn't make me happy. Hating you makes me hate myself more," I looked at her.

She's in tears again. Is she faking it? Ginagawa niya na naman ba 'to para mas mapalapit kay Galvan?

"Let's just ignore each other Kristen," before I left her. "Iiwas na ako sa Spades if that's what you want."

Two months later...

It's been two months since that incident happen. Hindi na ko lumapit pa sa Spades. Nahihirapan nga ako lalo na boyfriend ni Kaye si Em.

I missed Galvan. Namiss ko ang cookies niya. Pati ang pagbibigay niya sa akin ng mga bulaklak at stuff toy.

"Inimbita kami ni Em na maghost sa prom," sabi ni Kaye sa akin. "Hindi mo pa rin ba pinapansin si Renz?"

"Ayokong makipag-away ulit kay Kristen dahil lang sa Spades. Okay na 'to. They're happy now without me," she looked at me worriedly.
