"Mom?" I saw the dark haired women standing at the door and I tried to take easy breaths.

"You little bitch, you run away and look where it took you!" She shouted and slammed the door. "Who is this little boy?"

"I'm 18, ma'am." Sam glared at her and rolled her eyes. "Explain yourself, Hazel." My mom walked over to the bed and I smiled.

"Nothing to explain." She lifted her hand and I felt a burning sensation on my cheek. I looked back at her and held my cheek.

"Don't sass me! You're coming home, c'mon. I'm getting the doctor and we are leaving.

"No!" Sam and I both said and I glared at her. "You can't do that!"

"Oh yes I can. You're 17 and you don't have a job, it's legal and you don't have a home. Hell, you probably don't even have a box to live in."

"All wrong, mother. I just got a job yesterday and I start Monday. I bought my own house and I've paid the first 4 month mortgage." I smirked and her mouth hung open.

"Oh mom, close your mouth. We don want you catching flies with your stank breath." Her hand was thrown over her mouth and she glared at me.

"How dare you talk to your own mother that way?! It doesn't matter, you're underage and you can't. It's the law." I groaned and she smirked.

"I'll go talk to the doctor." She flipped her hair and walked out the door and I ran my fingers through my hair.

"What are we going to do?" I asked and looked over at Sam. He held my hands softly and looked into my eyes.

"I'll find you." He smiled slightly and I hugged him tightly. "Please don't forget about me, please don't." I asked and he chuckled.

"I won't, babe. I promise." I smiled widely and pulled away. "Can you watch my house? I won't be there longer than a month. I turn 18 in a couple days." I sighed and shut my eyes tightly.

"Stay strong for me." Sam said and I opened my eyes. I looked at his expression and smiled slightly.

"I'll stay strong for you."
