I felt myself wake up to the feel of a sharp pain in my arm. I opened my eyes and a nurse was standing next to me.

"I'm sorry to wake you ma'am, I need to change your needles and fill up your IV bags." She explained and I smiled. "It's fine, thank you."

She finished up hanging the IV bags and looked back over at me, pulling out a paper and pen.

"Would you like anything to eat? Anything to drink?" She asked and smiled as I thought for a second.

"Can I have fruit loops, glass of orange juice and a muffin, please?" She nodded and wrote it down.

"I'll be back up in about 15 minutes." She smiled and I thanked her. I glanced over at the clock that read 10:45am.

I flipped on the TV and saw this guy Billy Goldsmith on. I watched him talk about him failing at hunting a deer and I couldn't help but laugh.

The same nurse came in and handed me the tray of food. "Thank you, I wish I had money to give you or something." I sighed and she chuckled.

"As long as you're okay, it's fine!" She smiled and walked out of the room and I returned to watching Billy Goldsmith.

I laughed at his story about how stereotypical women can be and before I knew it, Sam was walking in.

"Hey babe!" I smiled and he chuckled. "You're too happy." He smiled and I shrugged, I was in a good mood with all the comedy on TV and I was thinking positively.

"Good news." Sam said kissing my forehead, "I got you out of here early, let's go." He kissed my lips and I nodded. I pressed the nurse button and the same nurse from earlier came in.

"Yes?"

"The doctor said I am aloud to leave. Can I get out of the machine and have my clothes?" I asked and she nodded as she took out my IVs and gave me different clothes.

"We didn't want you to leave with dirty or bloody clothes, so we went out and bought you a new outfit. I hope you don't mind." She smiled and handed me the folded clean clothes.

"Oh wow, uhm. Thank you so much." I smiled and walked to a tiny bathroom and took off my gown.

I pulled up the black skirt and I put the white baggy shirt on, tucking it into the skirt. I finger combed my hair and lazily put it in a side braid and walked out to see Sam.

He handed me my blood stained sweatpants and tank top and I walked to the trashcan and threw them away.

"I don't want to think about that moment everytime I put those clothes on." I sighed and took Sam's hand as we walked silently out the door.

We checked out and we walked outside into the autumn air, since it was just the start of November. I looked around all the multi colored leaves and smiled at the cloudy sky.

"You alright?"

"Yeah, it's just when you're in a hospital room dying everything seems more colorful and alive." I gave him a smile as I closed the car door.

I lightly coughed into my hand and thanked God for no blood. Sam got into the driver seat and started up the car and pulled out of his parking spot and onto the road.

As we drove I leaned back in my seat and watched the clouds and the trees roll by. I was noticing everything was clearer, but darker at the same time. I looked over at Sam who was clearly focused on the road.

I smiled at him and looked back out the window and sighed. "Hazel?" Sam asked as we parked in the driveway. He took out the car keys and looked at me.

"You love me, right?" He asked and I smiled. "Of course, I love you." I said leaning in and pressing my lips on Sam's where our lip rings hit. I giggled against his lips and pulled away.

"Good, cause I love you too." He quickly pecked my cheek, catching me off guard and I giggled as we walked inside the house.

I was greeted by a happy Blue and I kneeled down to pet him. I kissed his hand and walked over to the couch and noticed the journal I got when I was with Sam.

I picked it up the journal and smiled at it. I grabbed my black pen next to it and opened up the first page.

Nov. 2nd

I got out of the hospital today, I only have two months to live but I know I've had an amazing life. I'm keeping my spirits up and praying, and Sam is helping a lot. I really do love Sam. I feel like a school girl now! xxx

"What're you doing?" Sam asked and I closed the journal. "Don't touch it, okay? It's personal." I sighed and he nodded.

I leaned up and kissed his cheek and he sat next to me. I felt a cough attack coming on, so I went in the kitchen and swallowed a small white tablet and washed it town with water.

"Cough." Sam order and I coughed into my hand, only spots of blood. "You're doing good, Hazel. I'm proud of you, baby." He kissed my forehead and I smiled.

"I dont know how I got so lucky, Sam." I giggled.
