My King

Chapter One

Ash's PoV

      I huffed looking up at my new school. I really didn't want to come here but my mom said I should try and get into a nice school. Well, actually she more or less forced me to come here. Great. I look over and see some blond dude with blue eyes giving me a weird look. I let out a sigh and grumble, 

      "Can you actually fuck off? I'm aware my eyes are weird." He seems surprised by my remark, but I storm off not giving him a chance to respond. 

'Great first day and people are already judging my fucking eyes!'

      I curse myself and head to the office to check-in and get my dorm number, my luggage was brought to my room and I start walking to my first class. I suddenly stop as I see a familiar raven-haired boy, I think I might cry. He looks up from his notes and freezes as he sees me. 

     "A-Ash?" He stutters, his eyes widening, I nod and run to hug him. He hugs me and laughs, "Ash I thought I'd never see you again!" I laugh and look at him.

      "Did ya miss me? Admit it you missed me~" I activate my ability and levitate in front of him.

      "Nope not at all." he retorts. People start giving us weird looks,

      "Mmm, can you all actually fuck off?" I say, my eyes glowing. My weird eyes scared them off, or so I had thought. The blond dude from before came striding down the hall his blue-eyed glowing. John whispers something to me and I glare at him "we need to talk later" he nods. 

      "Well, well, well, if it isn't the new girl?" The blond guy smirks. I land and protectively wrap an arm around Johns's shoulders. I'm determined to protect my king.

      "Well if it isn't the weird-ass blond dude, the fuck do you want?" People gasp and a low tire shrinks away. I realized almost at once this guy is the king and smirk, knowing John could easily take him down. He growls.

     "You should show more respect! From what I can tell your just a lowly mid-tier, you have no right speaking to the King in that tone." I laugh. I've been told I have an insane sounding laugh that tends to scare people away. Especially when I'm annoyed or pissed off. 

      "Mid Tier!" I scoff. I activate my ability again, suddenly very quiet. "I'm no mid-tier." Shadows swirl and wrap around me, like extra limbs. They cover my body making it hard to see anything but my glowing red eyes.

      "Arlo I don't think it's a good idea to pick a fight with her... I've never seen an ability like that." So, Arlo was his name, I'm guessing this guy was the Jack or Ace if he dared try and challenge the King... or just a fucking idiot. Arlo seems to ignore him and a yellow barrier forms around me. I laugh again and the people around us shrink back. The shadows around me twist and form into knives that soon become solid. I launch them full force into the barrier. The barrier shatters and Arlo falls to his knees, coughing up blood.

      "I'm no mid-tier, I'm a god tier." I turn and grab John's hand dragging him away. Everyone watches us go before scattering. I drag John up onto the roof before letting go. I scared the shit out of a few mid tires and they fled the roof. I turn to him "Explain. Now." And so he does. I couldn't help but feel guilty and horrified as he tells me about what happened after I left. Finding out Clair betrayed him like that makes my blood boil.

      I sighed sadly. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left, it's my fault." I feel tears welling up in my eyes. He pulls me into a tight hug,

      "It isn't your fault, you didn't know." We sat up there on the roof catching up on things like my life in America and what had been going on since he came to Welston. Oddly enough a girl with pink and yellow hair comes onto the roof. She pauses for a moment seeing me, but I couldn't care less.

      "Hey John, um who's this?" John looks up at her.

      "Oh! Seraphina! This is Ash. She's an old friend of mine. Ash this the Seraphina." I nod.

      "You told me about her, thanks for looking after him while I was gone. He can be a bit of a handful." Seraphina laughs,

      "I believe it, looking after a cripple who picks a fight with everyone is rather hard." I chuckle. Even though he's not really a cripple, he has been known to pick fights with everyone he sees.

     That night I brought all my things down from my dorm to John's house. I flop down on his couch and quickly make myself at home. This wasn't the first time I had just randomly moved in with him so he was pretty used to it.

      "Well want to watch a movie or something?" I asked and he gives me a look.

      "We aren't watching Harry Potter for the 500th time." He said sternly and I pout.

      "Aww you're no fun!" He laughs.

      "All I hear about when we watch it is how much you ship Drarry!" We laugh for a few minutes, simply enjoying being back together. Then I remember something from the little fight I had with that Arlo guy from school. I smirked and poked John's cheek. 

      "So, I saw the look you gave Arlo when you saw him~" He turns scarlet and glares at me,

      "I don't know what you're talking about!" I laugh,

      "Awwwwwwa does Johny have a cwush on the King?~" I tease and his eyes light up. Giggling, I raise my hands in mock surrender. "Sorry, my King!" He just rolls his eyes at me and deactivates his ability, smiling a little.

      "It's getting late and we have school tomorrow." He pointed out and I huffed.

      "Since when do you care so much about school?" 

      "Since I was a cripple and needed to get good grades or I'd be kicked out." He said and I stuck my tongue out at him. 

      "But you're not a cripple," I grumbled and he rolled his eyes again. 

      "I won't use my ability just so we can stay up until three am." He said and I chuckled.

      "Fine, be that way." I activate my shadow ability and make a bed. Flopping down I smile a bit and John heads to his room. I look around the small living room for a bit before changing into a tank top and sweatpants. I curled up in the bed I made. I fell asleep within seconds, excited for what tomorrow might bring.
