Chapter Four

John's PoV

      'Great so she just fucking kisses me, in front of Arlo! And then drags me off without any further information!'

      We start walking to my house.  Sera said she'd meet back up with us here once she's done with whatever it is she's doing. It had seemed pretty importaint. 

      "Hey um Ash, what in the actual fuck was that?" I asked, just a little bit angry but mostly confused. Platonic kisses were a normal thing between me and Ash but still... in front of Arlo...

      "Oh well you see, I was watching you two the whole time. I had one of my shadow foxes following you. When Arlo came over to you he was rather nervous, but he had seen me with Remi just before he walked over. So he knew I wasn't near you. Either he's scared of you cause he knows you have a supper secret ability, oooorrr," She dragged out the 'or' much longer then she needed to," he likes you!" She booped me on the nose and my faced scrunched up. "I kissed you to make him jealous and if my plan works then on Monday he'll come to you., and based off the look on his face I'm pretty sure I was successful." She clapped her hands and her eyes lit up. "But it's Saturday so let's go out tonight!" She said with an excited giggle. She really liked to party.

      "Hmmmm well your plans usually work so ok!" I said, confident in her abilities. Lmao abilities.

      "Hah well I'm glad you have confidence in me. I kinda hope he sees us all out together. Try not to get separated from me or Sera again." She said sternly putting her hands on her hips. I just rolled my eyes at her.

      "Hah ok mom!" We get to my house where we wait for Sera. Once she's there Ash explains the plan to her and she agrees. Sera has known I like Arlo for a while now.

      It was finally Monday and I was walking through the halls.

      'Ok if Ash is right, which she usually is, I've gotta try and get alone with Arlo... The roof! He always skips class on the roof!' 

      I smile and start walking up to the roof. On the way I spot Ash's shadow fox out of the corner of my eye, following me. I take a deep breath and open the door to the roof. Sure enough I see Arlo. I freeze and he looks up from his phone scrolling. We just kinda stare at each other for a moment before saying anything.

      "Oh um, Arlo didn't think you'd be up here. Heh I'll just go." I said faking guilt and worry. I turn to leave but he stops me.

      "It's fine you can stay." He said casually and I smile a bit. I look back at him and he resumes his phone scrolling. I go and sit a little ways from him and lean up against the fence. I take out my phone and start texting Ash.

Perfect! I can see what's happening but I can't

I did the innocent act thing and acted

 like I was gonna leave like you told me to

 but then he said I could stay and

Just act like you don't see him
