My King

Chapter Two

Arlo's PoV

      I walked down the hall, thinking over what happened yesterday with that new bitch Ash and John.

      'She fucking wrapped her arm around him and then had the nerve to hold his hand?!? What would she want with a cripple anyway, he's supposed to be mine!'

      I think to myself. I look up and see them walking to school together.

      "Honestly you took even longer than me in the bathroom!" I hear Ash yell.

      "Well excuse me but I had to gel my hair!" John retorted snarkily.

      "Why? You look way better without your helmet." John laughed at this.

      "Helmet? Really now?"

      "Yeah, it looks like a hel- wait! Omg, you're like Snape! With his greasy ass hair!" Ash bursts out laughing, and John turns scarlet.

      "You have a five-second head start!" he threatened. 

      "EEP!" Ash runs off and John chased her. I scowl, she may have beat me once, but I wasn't prepared for that creepy ass second ability. Most people only have one. 

      'Maybe I can get a chance to talk to him today, but... The way he looked at me when I attacked Ash... They are obviously close.'

      I stalk up to the roof, irritated. Looking down I can see John chasing Ash around the school. Suddenly a black barrier forms around Ash. My eyes widen in surprise, 

      'That's like my barrier!'

John's PoV

     I summoned a barrier around Ash my golden eyes glowing triumphantly.

      "Hah caught you now!" I said with a smirk.

      "Hey! No fair! You used your ability!" She pouted. Suddenly her eyes light up and she uses her levitation on me.

      "Hey! HEY! No stop put me down I don't like this!" I yell, not being a huge fan of Ash using her mind to hold me in the air. She has the attention span of a goldfish and might drop me on my head. She just raises me up higher. I get rid of the barrier and she drops me, literally. I hit the ground with a thump and Ash gasps.

      "Oops! You ok?" She asked worriedly. I nod sitting up.

      "Yeah I'm fine, now c'mon classes start soon. I swear my teacher might actually kill me if I'm late again" Ash laughs and nods before following me into the school. She acted just like she used to when I was King. She had her head high, looking smug and important. Which she was, and I'm quite sure if I ever become King again she would fight to the death to be my Queen. She's the most loyal friend I could ever ask for. I mean here she is, by my side protecting me as I pretend to be powerless. Just as she did before. 

Arlo's PoV

     I watched as they walked into the school together, slightly confused. Did John use my ability? No, that's not possible. I mean it was probably my imagination. John's a cripple... Right? I huffed and walk head down the stairs just in time to see John cornered by two mid tires.

      'Wait where's Ash?'

      Ash walks around the corner. She looked visibly disappointed and annoyed until she saw John on the ground. She let out a growl and the shadows around her twisted and formed into the shape of knives, which then turned into real knives just as they did when she fought me. Well more of handed my ass to me, but that's not important right now. The knives are launched at the mid-tiers. They try to run but are lifted into the air, the floating knives circling around them.

      "W-We are sorry Ash please don't hurt us!" One of them shouts, panicking.

      "It isn't me you should be apologizing to!" Her eyes glow. It was clear that she was fiercely protective of John.

      "W-WE ARE SORRY JOHN!" the other says and Ash drops them, the knives dispersing into shadows.

      "There now that wasn't too hard, was it?" It was really scary how fast she went from 'about to rip your face off' to perfectly calm. She walked over and helped John up. "There was no cat." She muttered sadly, which made him chuckle, before taking him to the infirmary. I stood there, clearly, she hadn't seen me otherwise I might have gotten a face full of knives as well. I followed behind her careful not to attract her attention, as I had thought she took him into the infirmary. I went up to the roof again where I would spend most of my day.

     School was finally over and I was wandering the halls on my way out. I saw Ash and John again but this time...

      'Is she seriously levitating along behind him, holding onto his shoulders so he drags her through the air?'

      In fact, she was. This wasn't unusual for her. They used to it all the time because Ash is a lazy piece of shit. However, this seriously angered Arlo,

'How fucking dare she! I need to make him mine before this psycho bitch takes him away from me!'

      He growled, and Ash heard him. She looked over at him and raised an eyebrow at the annoyed look on his face. John hadn't heard him and kept walking, but Ash gave Arlo a smug look and stuck her tongue out. His eyes lit up, but Ash smirked and made one of her knives. She launched it right at my face and I jumped a bit. It disappeared just before it made contact with me. I watched them leave wondering if Ash would really kill me. It wasn't unlikely that she would, or at least try. She seems to already hate me or something which could be detrimental to my hopes of winning John over, seeing as she's his best friend and all. I leave the school and head back to my dorm, trying to figure out what I was going to do.
