Chapter Fourteen: Reunited

Igneel carries his unconscious son's body back home, with Sting, Gajeel, and Metal following. Sting's eyes keep drifting back to his cousin, his mind screaming with thoughts.

"So who's this 'Luce' he kept screaming about?" Gajeel asks out loud to anybody who will answer. He and Metal have been stuck in a stunned silence, that Sting had no idea how to break. When Sting looks over to him, he sees Gajeel's forehead creased as he observes Natsu in Igneel's arms. They had removed all of the knives from his body, but his wounds aren't closing quick enough. He's still finding it strange to be seeing his pink-haired cousin again. For so many years, they all believed he was dead...

"Lucy Heartfillia. She goes to our school. You've probably seen her with Levy or Erza." Sting murmurs, his eyes trained on his cousin in case the mention of his mate's name spikes his consciousness. But he doesn't even flinch.

Gajeel sucks in a deep breath, "The new girl, with blonde hair and big boobs?"

Igneel growls darkly, pausing to send his nephew a dark glare, "Watch how you talk about my son's mate." Metal smacks the back of his son's head.

Sting nods his head in reply, despite the awkward description. This place didn't really get new people, so anyone not from here generally sticks out. And the fact that she had become friends with Levy would have definitely put her on Gajeel's radar, considering she is the girl he has chosen as his mate.

"I still can't believe he's alive..." Metal whispers.

They make it to the Dragneel mansion quickly, after cutting through the trees. Igneel's heart burns at the thought of his son being so close, all this time, and he had no idea.

Wendy, Rogue, and Grandeena all hear the approaching footsteps of their family. Wendy and Grandeena rush outside, leaving Lucy with Rogue. He stares down at her unconscious body, covered in their healing aura, trying to figure out how to overmark Natsu's claim to her. I saw her first. She was mine to claim!

The moment Grandeena and Wendy spot the pink hair hanging over Igneel's arm, a waterfall of tears breaks forward. Their sobs are loud and dragging, their chests heaving with relief. The sight of their long-lost Natsu filling brings about a peace that has been absent from their lives.

"Natsu!" Wendy cries as she rushes forward, her sobs choking her. Once she reaches her father, she looks down at her brother's sleeping face, pushing his hair from his forehead gently. Her warm tears fall onto Natsu's cheek, as she looks up to her father.

"He's going to be OK, isn't he?" She questions, her eyes shiny and dripping. Her nose is snotty, so she wipes it on her sleeve. Igneel's eyes flicker from his wife to his daughter, to his son, before answering, "I'm not sure."

Natsu wakes up with a sudden start, finding himself lying on something very large and soft. It reminds him of the blanket that Lucy had brought down-

Luce.

"Natsu, you're awake!" He hears a feminine voice cry from beside him. He turns to the unfamiliar voice, surprised to see a woman with the same colour hair as him. Her eyes are watery and her face is blotchy. He retreats from the woman, keeping his eyes trained on her, ready for an attack. He sniffs the air, trying to scent Luce. He can smell traces of her on the woman.

Slowly, he shifts back, his nose leading him. Grandeena's heart break's as she sees the wildness that has consumed her son. Does human is he now? How much has he lost?
