Natsu presses his ear against her chest gently, desperate for the soft thumping that beats against his ear. It is alarmingly faint. The strangely abnormal thump unsettles him. He pulls back to stare at her, unsure what to do. "Luce. Luce..." He tries shaking her shoulders once more, pulling her close to his chest. He shuffles until he is comfortable with her body on his legs, holding her chest against his. Natsu tries shaking her again, grunting loudly at her. Her eyelids barely flutter.
Blood continues to slowly seep from the dozen deep bite marks that litter her arms and neck. The smell now unsettles Natsu. It doesn't smell the same as it had smelt before. He doesn't want to drink it now – he wants it to stop leaving Luce's body.
Mine. No hurt Luce. As if on instinct, Natsu lifts his hand to his mouth, before biting down sharply into his thumb. Wincing from the pain, he withdraws his teeth when he feels his blood starting to flow down his wrist. Before his bite mark heals, he quickly forces his broken skin against Lucy's lips, filling her mouth with traces of his own blood. Staring down at his Luce, Natsu beings to wonder what he is doing. Why he is feeding Lucy the red stuff from his body?
The moment Lucy swallows the first mouthful of his blood, something within Natsu's body bursts forward like a slamming door. An intense want fills his soul.

When Lucy's eyes adjust to the dim light, her head is heavy like it is filled with lead. Her body aches, and her heart pounds. Her eyes slowly focus on her surroundings, as her head swims. She tries to think of why her body feels so sore and weak. When her eyes lock on the boy's face above her, everything in her mind clears. Her pain eventually subsides, and her head grows lighter. The dark crimson coating his teeth and staining his lips triggers something inside her. Before either of them realise, Lucy is already scrambling away from the boy. Natsu reaches out for her, confused with her sudden movement.
"Luce..." Natsu whispers her name, shuffling forward towards her. Lucy scurries backward on her butt, her body shaking. He attacked me... He bit me like, some kind of animal... Her lip trembles at the upset look on Natsu's face. His forehead creases and his eyes bleed salty tears. "Luce..." He tries reaching out for her again, but his chains pull. He misses her by small centimetres. When Lucy doesn't move any closer to him, Natsu grows more confused. "L-Luce..."
