Chapter Nine: Time Together

It takes a long time for Lucy to fall asleep. The stench of the boy's blood paired with her the uncomfortable flipping of her stomach keeps her up longer. When she does finally doze off, it feels like it has only been a few seconds that her eyes are closed. Opening her eyes when her body is squeezed slightly, she finds the pink haired boy staring at her with wide glossy eyes.

Lucy shifts back quickly, surprised. Crap, that's right. I slept down in the basement last night. Quickly looking at her watch, she sees that it is nearly noon. "Crap! Thank god it's the weekend."

Turning back to the boy, Lucy's eyes scan his body. Her mouth drops at the sight of him. His skin is adorned with scars, but no open gashes or holes. No missing chunks of skin. No blood. Her mind numbs as she tries to understand how it is possible for him to have healed so quickly. "It's not possible... It can't be..."

The boy's eyes are curious, no signs of pain or fear. Lucy wonder's if he even remembers what happened to him last night. The way he is looking at her is like nothing happened. Like he wasn't brutally tortured right in front of her.

He moves closer to her, his nose brushing hers gently. Lucy's face blushes furiously at their close proximity. Her mouth gapes like a fish, her mind floundering for words to say. The boy watches her with interest, before he starts sniffing her. He buries his nose in her hair, breathing deeply. He likes the smell. He is comforted by it.

Lucy's face reddens further when his face nuzzles her neck, his sniffing increasing. She gasps when she feels his teeth scrape against the sensitive flesh, biting gently. Lucy is at a complete loss of what she should do. Do I let him continue doing whatever he is doing? Do I stop him? What is he even doing?

Natsu wants to inhale her smell forever. He doesn't want to stop smelling her. And she tastes nice. Her skin is soft. Something instinctual drives him to bury his teeth in her throat. He resists, only because he doesn't want her to be scared of him. But when her body shivers against his, it almost breaks his strength. He doesn't know what the strong urge inside him is. He has never felt anything like it before. It is shouting at him like the man who comes down and hurts him shouts. It is loud, and scary. He doesn't want to listen, but he has no choice. As the boy's teeth scrape against her delicate throat, he leans closer, ready to bite.

"Natsu... Stop..." The sound of her voice stops him. That name... That is what the man calls him. He has said that to him for as long as he can remember being in this cold room. Hearing the name fall from her lips, her soft voice whispering it in his ear, causes something in his chest to seize. No hurt.
