Naruto would groan if it didn't seem like giving up. A couple of minutes had already passed and the blonde was still staring at the first question. He really should have watched the movie instead of trying to figure out why he felt like he was dying. Chewing on the eraser of his pencil, Naruto swirled in his desk chair. It was around five in the late afternoon, school ending just two hours ago. Naruto was in his room, his parents out for a date.
"I HAVE NO CLUE ON WHAT TO DO!" Naruto yelled to no one. His words echoed back to him and the boy wondered how he was ever going to pass this week's quiz. A preview for the midterms. Quick as a flash, a bright idea flickered into his mind.
"My friends can tutor me! Sakura's totally boss at this subject so I'll call her." Naruto proclaimed. Reaching his phone, he swiped to his contacts and looked for Sakura. Quickly realizing his mistake the boy frowned.
She's on a date, I forgot, with that bastard. I shouldn't call because teme would cancel the bet and Sakura would seriously kill me. Naruto thought, gooosbumps rising from the thought of a Sakura punch.
"Who else, who else, hmm, who else?" Naruto mumbled as he looked through his contacts for a smart person that wasn't busy. Shikamaru was out with his dad, Sai out at an art exhibit. Who else could help him out?
Another, possibly even more brilliant, idea popped in his mind.
"HINATA! She would definitely help me, honestly!" Naruto yelled victoriously as he dialed her number, praying she wasn't too busy.
"Hello?" A sweet voice came out. Naruto smiled.
"Hello, it's Naruto."
"Oh, what's up?"
"I'm having some trouble with the History quiz coming up... can you help me out?"
"Sure, I'll be over in a couple minutes."
"Thanks. See you!"
With that, Naruto hung up the call and grinned. He was easily killing two birds with one stone. He was going to ace his history quiz, and have another moment with his girlfriend to tell Sasuke about. He quickly picked up some dirty clothes, neatened the room up a bot and sprayed some air freshener.
This sure is an ace.
The doorbell rang and Naruto jogged down the stairs, opening the door.
Hinata was there, her face pink from the cold, giving a quick wave and a big smile. Narutos heart did the pounding thing again.
I'm sick, for sure.
Inviting her in, Naruto gave a soft stroke to her cheek and gave a fond smile, but quickly put his hand away like it was on fire. Hinata laughed at him adorably and he sheepishly chuckled as well.
What was that?
"Hey there." Naruto awkwardly said. Hinata nodded back in polite greeting.
"My parents are out on a date, so I'm the only one home. Anyways, let's go to my room, we can work there." Naruto motioned Hinata to follow him. As they walked up the stairs, Naruto's head was getting a bit dizzy. Besides Sakura, Hinata was the only girl to be in his bedroom. Even Sakura was over when his parents and Sai and Sasuke were here... never alone.
"So yeah. My room" Naruto said as he made a big sweeping motion, showing of his room. Hinata simply nodded and smiled.
"Its very nice. Is... is that lavender?" Hinata said as she sniffed the air. Naruto burned red, and slowly nodded.
"Uh, yes. Anyways, can we get started?" He said. Hinata nodded, took out her binder, and began to speak.
"All right, you said you needed help in History, right? Let's start. Tobirama Senju was the second mayor of Konohagakure. After the political standoff with his brother, Hashirama Senju, and his rival, Madara Uchiha, Hashirama decided to step down. Marara Uchiha took control of leadership after. He was the person who founded the Konoha Academy, The Chunin Exams, as well as the selective job application examinations to go into certain fields of study and The ANBU Black Ops Spies Unit that is part of the Police Force downtown...." Hinata said swiftly as she wrote down flashcards for Naruto to study.
Naruto simply looked blank. When Hinata finally looked up, she bit her lip, trying not to laugh. Naruto frowned and looked at Hinata, appalled.
"What?"
Hinata swallowed her laughter, a mischievous look in her eyes. " You, your face looked so funny when I looked up! You looked so utterly confused, here let me show you." Hinata said as she made he exact same face Naruto made. He burst out laughing, and soon, the two were just laughing and telling each other jokes, making some inside ones as well. Studying seemed to be put aside, but they eventually got to it, and at the end, Naruto memorized and was prepared for the test.
"Oh, well. It's only been two hours, and we got you well prepared. I think I should go now." Hinata said as she sipped some juice and started to get up. Naruto grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him. The two were blushing, seeing as this was the closest they had gotten to each other.
"Uh, no. You can stay a little while more, if you want." Naruto said, staring into Hinata's eyes. She smiled and sat down, nodding.
"All right. What do you want to do now?"
"Its about seven, eight o'clock, right? Wanna go eat out?"
"Now?"
"Why not?"
"Um, okay then." Naruto gave a smile, and they got up, walking down the stairs.
"Where do you wanna go?" Naruto asked.
"Anything is in with me; I'm not picky."
"Unlike you, I assume?" Boruto asked smugly.
"Shut up."
"Would you like to go out for ramen?"
"OH MY GOD, RAMEN?" I said, jumping up from the couch, head in my hands. My father, who is a ramen freak, took out my mother for their second fake date to a ramen shop.
Walking around the table, my hands clasped behind my back, I stared at my dad, who was watching me with amusement. Then an image made its way into my mind, and I gaped, worried if it was true.
"Don't. Don't you dare tell me it w-," I didn't even finish my sentence when my dad flashed a dreamy smile.
"Yes... yes... it was Ichiraku Ramen."
I slapped my hand on my face, groaning. How uncool.
Hinata nodded smiling. Then she spoke, just at the same time Naruto said the suggestion of where to go.
"There's this really nice place-,"
"A sweet ramen stand-,"
"Called-,"
"Its named-,"
"Ichiraku-,"
"Ramen."
The two looked up in each other in shock. Naruto blinked and grabbed Hinata's shoulders, to which Hinata did the same.
"YOU KNOW ICHIRAKU RAMEN?" The two excitedly squealed as they jumped up and down, smiling. Tears were coming out as well.
"Naruto-kun knows Ichiraku!"
"Hinata-chan knows Ichiraku!"
Suddenly, Hinata stopped jumping. She quickly took her hands of Naruto's shoulders, and looked down. Her whole face was red. Naruto lifted up Hinata's chin, wondering why she was quiet all of a sudden.
"Hinata-chan?" Hinata turned even more red, then she spoke.
"Uh, s-sorry. You... you called me Hinata-chan..." She mumbled. Naruto turned a slight shade of red, realizing what he'd said... and what position the two were in now. Hinata was pressed on the front entrance wall, Naruto right in front of her and little too close. Naruto swallowed, and slowly backed away. Hinata leaned forward and walked a little further away from the wall, still looking down.
"Um, okay. Wanna go now?" Naruto awkwardly asked. Hinata nodded, and the two left the house, silence radiating between the pair, the tension high, and deep thoughts racing in each one's mind.
