"COME ON, LETS GO! KONOHA BEASTS, LETS GO!" The cheerleaders yelled. It was mid-October and a pep assembly was there to mark the occasion... SPOOKY SEASON STARTING SOON! I give a small smile, watching Sakura cheer loudly. Sasuke was next to me, and as I gave a another loving look to my love, he poked me in the eyes.

"Pervert. She's my girl. Back off." He hissed. I rub my eyes and frowned.

"Uh uh, not yet, my dear boy. I still have two weeks. Sakura is gonna be mine in just... Two weeks, I suppose?"

"Only if you win."

'Which I intend to."

A heated glare broke out and I was just about to punch him when someone caught my hand.

"Yo. You two, stop it. We're at an assembly, no need to fight." Shikamaru said from the bleacher above us. I snatch my hand and narrow my eyes, growling.

"Shut up. Watch. Isn't the girl you're dating down there right now? " Sai mumbles as he pointed to the middle of the gym. I punch my fist, annoyed that I missed Sakura's last cheer.

"Look, dobe." Sasuke said. I look up, and my eyes widen.

Hinata was down there, shining. She was wearing a simple white dress, her hair let loose with roses accenting the strands, a microphone in her hand. Her eyes sparkled as she smiled at the cheerleaders, Ino, Temari and Sakura. But I didn't notice them; I just kept looking at Hinata, who looked so beautiful.

I felt a nudge on my shoulder and I broke out of my trance. I looked over at my three friends and all sported their own smirks. I expressed my confusion with a look similar to that of a constipated deer. Why were they so smug all of a sudden?

"What?" I asked.

"He's got it, oh damn lord, he's got it." Shikamaru said.

"Got what?" I questioned, but it was like they barely heard me. They just kept talking.

"Hmm, you're right. I think you won, Sasuke." Sai mumbled with a nod.

"Why, what'cha ya won, teme?" I asked in disdain.

"I'm not gonna back down. He has to say it for himself. I will revel in my winnings later." Sasuke smiled.

"Back up. What exactly is going on here?" I ask louder. The three just turn their heads slowly, giving sly grins.

"Figure it out," Sasuke said.

"And then," Sai added on.

"We'll tell ya if you're right or not." Shikamaru ended.

I gave a pout and went back to looking at Hinata. She was being motioned on by Principle Tsunade.

"U-uh, hello!" The microphone squeaked, and everyone covered their ears. Hinata turned red with embarrassment and all I wanted to do was to be able to tell her words of encouragement. Instead, I kept my mouth shut.

"My name's Hinata Hyuga and I'm going to be singing our anthem, Independence of Morning. Our Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, comprised it beautifully." Hinata said with a shaky smile.

She's singing that? That's a lot of memorizing, damn. Every one stood up, hands on their hearts, facing the flag of our town. I looked down at Hinata, who was trembling a little.

With a deep breath, she began to sing. My ears rang... her voice was beautiful.

"O Sons (and daughters) of the Konoha, this is your symbol,.

And as the fathers' struggle has raised

It from need to victory,

Even we, when it is demanded,
