It was now day two with Earl's family reunion. I sat at the dining room table with Earl and some of his family members on a Friday evening at Clancy's house. I sat between Earl and Ava in a padded dark wood chair that matched the dinning room table. There was Clancy and his two daughters, Sheila Rae and Hannibal. Sheila Rae, Ava and I spent the day out earlier as a girl's day out. We went shopping at a local mall, went to a movie theater and then ate lunch at a sidewalk cafe. It was Ava's very first time having an iced mocha latte, she loved it and had it with whipped topping and chocolate syrup. Sheila Rae settled with a black coffee and I had a blueberry and peach flavored sparkling water. I shopped for more maternity clothes, bras, and at least four pairs of shoes. We had a really great time out together. The luxurious dining room at the Fung house consisted of a dark wood china hutch filled with priceless antique china, the dark wood table and matching chairs, a beautiful crystal chandelier that hung above our heads and shown brightly. There was a tall bamboo plant that sat in the corner closest to the kitchen entrance. It was just as luxurious as the rest of the house. The Fung's housekeeper Veronica cooked a delicious dinner of meatloaf, glazed carrots, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy. After the dinner was set out on the center of the table, we began to dig in and pass platters of hot food around.

"Daddy, I'm spending the night at Terra's house", said Makayla as she put two heaping spoon fulls of mashed potatoes on her plate.

"When?", he asked.

"Tomorrow night, I'll be back Sunday afternoon", she replied.

"That's alright, I suppose", Clancy replied. Will you need a ride?

"Terra's mom is picking me up", she replied.

We continued on with the our hot meal while we shared decent conversation.

"So dad, how are thangs in dat nursin' home? How they treatin' ya?", asked Earl.

He scoffed and threw his hands in the air.

"I ain't like it, so I moved", Hannibal replied.

"You moved?", replied Earl.

"You deaf, boy? I said I moved", replied Hannibal. Them dumb ass nurses had no idea what they were doin' . I was the only Chinaman up in there and them racist ass motha'fuckas were stealin' from me, too.

"Daddy, we been through this before. Nobody was stealin' from you", said Sheila Rae.
