Its been a month and now it was near the end of October, pretty close to Halloween. October arrived with dreary, rainy days with temperatures in the mid to upper 70's. The temperatures were nice enough to finally turn off the AC for the year but not quit not cool enough to turn on the heat. On most days we kept the windows open, allowing a nice mild breeze to blow through the trailer. Temperatures at night dipped low into the mid 50's. So when night came, windows were closed. For my sake the window in our bedroom was kept open because at times I got really hot, thank God for screens. I am now 7 months pregnant and at times, very irritable. Now October decided it wanted to end with storms and some of them got pretty severe. It was now Monday, early afternoon, shortly after Earl left for work. Ava has been doing good in school so far but she's been kinda slacking off here at home. Earl and Ava were gone and Adrian was here to help out and to keep me company. I was craving soft tacos, so Adrian busied herself in our kitchen making homemade tacos. She stopped at Li's Meat Market on her way here and bought ingredients for our lunch; a bag of shredded lettuce, tomatoes, a pack of ground beef, a pack of taco seasoning, shredded cheese, taco sauce, and tortillas. I stayed put in the living room after I tidied it up a little bit. I sat in the recliner and flipped through the channels until I found something interesting to watch. Last night, we had no luck, a rainstorm knocked out the cable but it was restored by the time we woke up this morning.

"Girl, what are you about to watch?", Adrian called out from the kitchen.

"Antebellum Chronicles", I replied.

I couldn't help it, I was addicted to this periodical soap opera. Just in case you guys are wondering, the soap opera took place in Louisiana. It's main focus was a wealthy Southern plantation owner and his secret love affair with a female slave/field worker; Sir Ronald Colfax and Abigail. Abigail comes from a long lineage of voodoo priest and priestesses from Haiti, so there is a bit of a supernatural element to it. Imari Saunders, the dark skinned black female actress with the natural pale blue eyes who played Abigail, I think she's real pretty. I could hear the sizzle of the meat and smell it cooking.

"Girl, you watch that, too?", Adrian asked. Girl, the actor that plays Sir Ronald, he is sooooo fine. What do you think?

"During the summer, you said Earl was fine", I responded playfully.

"He still is", replied Adrian. What about Kyle Gifford? He's cute.

"Mm, I dunno", I replied. He's too pretty boy-ish in real life but he does look good in the this TV show. I like my men kinda rugged looking. So, I guess you can say his character is cute.

"The food's just about ready", Adrian called out. I can bring it in there and we can just sit in front of the TV and make soft tacos.

"Cool", I replied.
