Forsaken

★ Chapter 12 ★

When the medics horrified scream erupted from the back of the base, everybody ran to the rescue with assumptions of all kinds wrecking their helms. There was only one reason the medic would scream like that. Either something was wrong, or his tools, mangled. Guns charged up and ready to go. Team prime stormed into the room, fearing the worst. What they found was one of the scariest faces of rage they have ever seen. The medic scowled and glared at everyone in the room attempting to make out who could be responsible for such a horrible crime. In his servos was known to be one of the medics favourite tools of all time. He treasured it like it was his child at times. The Object he loved so dearly was a twisted, mangled mess in his shaking servos. Who would possibly do such a thing?

Starscream:" What was that noise?"

When Starscream had heard the scream, he was unsure whether or not he cared enough to go and investigate. He was still angry at the stunt that his "friends" had pulled losing Asteria. The little femme was now fast asleep in his arms as her chest rose and fell peacefully. He was hoping that she would be able to get some sleep after today's adventure. Eventually, curiosity got the better of him, and he made his way down the hallway following the screeching of a very angry medic. Honestly, it was just listening to knockout when someone broke his buffer. He Inwardly swore as Asteria began to start, sitting up in his arms. Thankfully, however, she did not appear to be disturbed by the noise at all. She just giggled happily and began bapping the seeker on his silver chest for a few seconds before reaching for that delicious digit she liked. Approaching his teammates, they all turned and stared in his direction. Similar things had happened to him on the nemesis whenever pointed out for lying. Only this time, he didn't exactly know what he had done wrong. The medic's optics wandered down to the femme sparkling as she was quite happily enjoying the taste of her daddy's digits. With the realisation of what had happened, a sudden bounce of rage took over him. That little femme had broken his tools for the last time!

Ratchet;" Starscream! I thought I told you to watch her! She broke my tools!"

Usually, Starscream would lie, and it was a very unpleasant experience when he got called out, but this was one of those rare times that he genuinely was not lying. She did no such thing at all. It wasn't kind of him to jump to this conclusion so quickly. Letting out a huff of disgusting the seeker lifted his wings in defence.

Starscream:" I was watching her! I have been with her the entire time, and she has been asleep! There is no way that she broke your tools!

Of course, after the past experiences, he wasn't shocked; they didn't believe him. Guilt and sadness crossed his mind as he lowered his wings as his fellow "Konrads" watched him. Typically the seeker had done something wrong he received a beating from his Lord and Master. Was Optimus going to do the same? He was with her the entire time there was no way that she could've broken his tools, and then he understood! He had found her she was playing down here by herself

Starscream:" wait just a minute! When I saw her when you LOST her, she was playing down here! One of you left her down here, not me! I was In stasis!"

Arcee:" he's lying, of course!

Starscream:" I am not lying!"

Of course, he wasn't surprised when the two-wheelers blamed him. He had was known to lie tremendously in the past, but it was very unpleasant to think that he was telling the truth and they did not believe him it Did make up for the times that he had been lying in his life but still since he was part of the team, not even he deserved This is unfair judgement. Unfortunately for him, His teammates all stared him as if he was the criminal. It wasn't fair! He had changed! He looked up at the prime with pleading optics to help him feel his spark break a little as even the Prime seemed to believe him wholeheartedly. Lowering his wings in shame, The seeker turned on his peds to head back to his room. He sat on the berth and held his little femme close to him for comfort. Innocently, she smiled at him.

Asteria:" Daddy!

Starscream:" at least someone believes me..."

Feeling fluids leak into the corners of his optics, he growled at his softness before slapping his faceplate to get them to go away. He could not show this weakness around the others. Holding Asteria close, he cuddled her gently until he began to feel better. He nearly fell off his berth when suddenly there was a knock on the door. Making sure the last of his tears gone he held his Wings up forcing a fake smile

Starscream:" Come In"

With door sliding open, he was amazed to see that it was. Great, He had come to give him the punishment for his actions. The Prime made himself comfortable next to him. his face was as calm as ever as he placed his massive serve on the seeker's wing causing him to flinch almost screaming in fact as he assumed he was going to get hit. The Prime frowned at his actions. Confused and thrown off guard when he was not hit, the seeker looked up at his new leader.

Starscream:" have you come to punish me?"

Optimus:" I do not believe that what had happened was your fault. What you said was true. You had been in stasis when we lost Asteria. She may have done it. I have enough evidence to conclude that you are innocent."

Innocent. It was a simple word, but yet it was not one that Starscream was familiar. He had always been guilty of everything, But that was because he usually did everything. It was nice to know somebody finally believed him and he had at least one friend. That was not something he was unfamiliar with also, But perhaps over time given a chance, they could become close. He had never thought in his life that he would be friends with a prime, but if things went the right way the primes power and his intelligence, they would make a formidable team indeed.

Starscream:" thank you, Prime."

Optimus:" thank you for telling the truth, Starscream. I appreciate it. And while we're on the topic of appreciation, we are going on a mission tomorrow, and we could use your assistance

Starscream:" what? Me?"

Optimus:" with your knowledge of them would be far easier to navigate it. We are in desperate need of Energon, and we would appreciate your assistance greatly. I understand if it makes you feel uncomfortable; however, It is difficult given what you have had happened.

Usually, Starscream would rather stay and do nothing, but at this point, he was getting rather bored, and it would be nice to have a short break from the cramped base. Flicking his wings happy to be able to go outside the seeker nodded in agreement.

Starscream;" very well then. I will join you on the mission. Where are we going?"

Optimus:" we have discovered an Energon mine, it is guarded by Airachnid."
