Reese climbed the stairs, his body slick with sweat. He hadn't seen any of his friends on the way in so he assumed they were in the game room watching a film or something. As he neared the top floor he noticed that his bedroom door was slightly ajar. Cautiously, he jogged up the last few stairs and slowly opened his door, his eyes immediately darting to all corners of the room before they fell upon the bed. Ashley was lying on her stomach with her limbs spread out. She was wearing yoga pants and a flimsy grey top. Reese smiled when he heard her faint snores.

Shaking his head sadly, he crept over to her and gently pulled the cover out from underneath her, only so he could throw it back over her. He silently got changed; he would take a shower later when there was less chance of waking a sleeping Ashley. Once he was out of his sweaty clothes he left the room, wincing when the door clicked behind him. He trotted downstairs to see Rose and Nico talking in hushed tones at the bottom. He could instantly tell something was wrong by the looks on their faces. He cleared his throat and came up behind them.

"Reese!" Rose jumped, turning around to look at him.

"What's wrong?" He asked, watching Nico carefully as he turned to face him, his expression calm.

"Nothing," Rose said a little too quickly for his liking. He raised an eyebrow but stayed silent. "The vampire has escaped," his heart dropped. Ashley.

He sprinted upstairs, taking three steps at a time. He reached the top and felt a spark of anger. A blue eyed boy stood outside his bedroom, leaning up against the door, smirking at him. Reese grabbed the smirking guy by the collar of his shirt. The guy just let Reese lead him downstairs and into one of the living rooms, where he chucked him onto one of the sofas.

"Now before you start talking, because I know you're going to start talking, I am not looking for a fight," the vampire said, before anyone could say anything.

"Were you in my room?" Reese asked, fighting to keep Grey down.

"Yup," he replied, popping the p. Reese blacked out and the next thing he knew he was holding the vampire against the wall by his throat.

"Did you touch Ashley?" He growled, struggling to stay in control.

"No, I went up there thinking you would be there and you weren't, so I stood outside until I heard a thud from inside. I opened the door and saw Ashley on the bed, I was about to close the door again before I heard you coming up the stairs," the vampire explained, desperately trying to breathe. Reese tightened his grip, making him go a nasty shade of purple. Reese felt strong arms pulling him back; he released his grip and turned to look at a calm looking Nico.

"Calm down," he said quietly, while Rose helped the vampire to his feet. "If you're not looking for a fight, then how come last night you grabbed Ashley? And don't even try to say that it was an accident, because everyone knows that vampires can sense the mate bond." Nico said, focusing his attention on the vampire.

"Oh right, that, I'm going to be honest with you, there were so many mate bonds in that room that I was getting confused," Reese nodded, looking for any indication that he was lying, none showed.

"And you're one hundred percent sure that she is a vampire?" Rose asked.

"Yeah, not a full vampire, but she definitely has some vampire blood running through her veins." Something clicked in Reese's mind and he quickly charged out of the room, heading for the garage.

"Reese, where are you going?" Rose called, jogging after him.

"I'm going to see Alice," Reese said, as Rose slowed beside him. "If anyone knows about Ashley's bloodline, it's her."
