15 ~ Lost Puppy

Trinity climbed the stairs, her legs groaning in protest. Nico gripped her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze as they neared the doctors room. She lightly rapped her knuckles against the door, waiting for someone to grant them entrance, but no one did. Sending Nico a concerned look, she slowly twisted the door handle. She pushed the door open a little, her heart swelling at what she saw.

Reese and Ashley were both laid on the hospital bed, asleep. Ashley had her head resting on Reese's chest while his arms encircled her waist. Trinity had to cover her mouth so she didn't squeal in excitement. She looked over her shoulder and saw Nico holding up his phone, taking a few pictures.

"Is he okay?" Grace asked, Rose walking beside her. Both Nico and Trinity shushed them, gaining confused looks as they approached. Trinity grinned widely as they peeked into the room. "That's so cute." They all nodded in agreement and quietly made their way into the room, Nico still frantically taking photos.

"Why are you taking so many pictures?" Trinity asked quietly.

"They'll come in handy sooner or later," he said with a mischievous smile.

"You have to send them to me," Trinity whispered. The doctor walked into the room, his eyes instantly falling onto Reese's bed. "Is he okay?"

"He's fine, my dear, just a couple of fractured ribs and a few bruises. He should be up and walking around by tomorrow." The doctor said. He wandered back out of the room.

"Should we leave them?" Rose asked, as soon as she had spoken Ashley started to stir and they all quickly scampered out of the room, quietly shutting the door behind them. The girls started to giggle while Nico shook his head slowly. They quickly looked inside to see that Ashley had fallen back asleep, before walking downstairs. Nico discreetly snaked his arm around Trinity's waist as they descended. They reached the bottom to find Cyan and Avery having a hushed conversation, which they quickly stopped when they saw the others. "Me and Grace are going to go and watch a film, you're welcome to join," they nodded and watched them both leave.

"It's Trinity, right?" Avery asked, gaining her attention.

"Yeah," she said, receiving a kind smile. She heard Nico let out a low growl and felt his grip become tighter, making her let out a light chuckle.

"Is Reese going to be okay?" Nico gave a stiff nod and Trinity saw Cyan smirk from beside Avery. "That girl who was waiting outside when we arrived, that was Ashley, wasn't it?"

"How did you know that?" Trinity asked, studying him.

"I met her in the makeup shop the other day," he said, giving her another smile. Trinity furrowed her eyebrows and nodded slowly. Nico gave him an apprehensive look before turning to Cyan.

"How long are you planning on staying?" He asked.

"Honestly, as long as I can," Cyan said with a shrug.

"Wont your family be worried?"Trinity asked, frowning when Cyan let out a small chuckle.

"I'm an orphan, deary," although he had a smile plastered on his lips, Trinity could see the pain in his eyes. She had no reply, so she just gave him a slow nod and a sympathetic smile. He walked away, Avery following him a few seconds later. Once they were out of sight Trinity made her way into the kitchen, her stomach growling. She started to rummage through the cupboards, aware of Nico sitting down on a stool, his eyes following her.

"Where's the flower?" Trinity asked, watching him as he got to his feet and opened a cupboard, dragging out a packet of flower. "Thanks, do you a pancake?"

"Of course," he said with a wide smile. "As long as you don't cook like Ashley," Trinity giggled and shook her head. She grabbed a few eggs and a carton of milk from the fridge. She mixed it all in a jug and then proceeded to try and find a frying pan, only to have Nico help her. Nico fiddled with a Bluetooth speaker while she made sure the first pancake didn't stick to the pan. A song started to play and she couldn't help but quietly sing the lyrics. Hands gripped her waist making her jump slightly.
