Of course, you never wanted to be that kind of girlfriend that didn't let their boyfriend do anything – or have friendships with other girls.

It was never difficult to not be upset over Jake's friendship with the girls at the precinct because you trusted him, and you knew he'd never do anything to hurt you.

You and Jake had been together for just over a year so obviously you knew about his past relationships, which meant you knew about his past with Amy.

A part of you just wanted to ignore that it ever happened as then you wouldn't feel as if you needed to have an issue with who Jake worked with, however the other side of you just couldn't get your head around the two of them.

Amy had never done anything to make you uncomfortable, so you knew rationally that you had no reason to have anything against her.

You'd gone in to see Jake at work but when you got there, you saw him sat very close to Amy and she leant up to kiss his cheek.

Now you knew that it wouldn't have meant anything, but you couldn't help but be freaked out over it – considering their past and such.

Without going over to him, you'd left but you didn't realise that Rosa had noticed you stood at the door.

As you were leaving, your phone rang so you answered it not looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Hey babe," Jake's voice sounded through the speaker. "Rosa just told me she saw you here."

"Oh no, I wasn't."

You heard him sigh on the other end. "She wouldn't lie."

"She must've been mistaken."

The two of you didn't live very far from the precinct so you were home whilst you were still on the phone to Jake.

"Anyway, I've got some things to do at the flat," you told Jake quickly. "See you later."

You hung up on them and then felt bad for doing so, but you didn't exactly want to talk to him about anything.

In your mind, you knew that Amy won't have meant anything by kissing Jake's cheek but in some way, it just upset you.

You couldn't quite qualify it, but you knew it hurt.

As you were lost in your own thoughts whilst you sat on the sofa, the front door opened and then slammed shut causing you to jump.

"Why did you say Rosa lied?"

You shrugged. "I was there for a split second, I didn't think anyone had noticed me."

"Well you were there for a reason."

"Just to say hi to you, but you were with Amy."

He sighed. "You saw it?"

"Her kissing your cheek? Yes."

"Nothing was meant by it."

"I know that."

He sat down next to you. "Then why do you look so upset?"

"Because you guys have a history and yet you're still friends."

"What am I supposed to do?" he questioned. "We do work together."

You sighed, crossing your arms before curling up onto the sofa. "I know, and it shouldn't bother me, but it does."

"Why?"

"Why do you think Jake?" you asked. "She's your ex, and it's difficult when you're still friends with your ex. Yes, I shouldn't let it bother me, but it still hurts sometimes."

He pulled you into a hug, kissing your forehead.

"I love you, you know?"

Jake started to run his fingers through your hair. "I know you do baby, and I love you too."

You sighed as you cuddled up to him.

"And I only love you, so you really do not need to worry about Amy."

You turned to look up at him. "I know I don't, it's just difficult sometimes."

"I get that baby, I do," he told you in a gentle tone. "But you are the only girl I love."
