"You did it, just confess and we can be out of here, well, I can be out of here before we even know it!" The interpreter signed whatever the detective dictated. The detective, whose name you had learnt was Rosa, leant back in her chair with her boots resting casually on the desk.
"I didn't do it." You signed back with annoyance, well okay, maybe you did do it, but there was no way that you were going down for it.
"Come on..." Rosa leant forward and stared deeply past your eyes, it felt as if she was staring into your very soul. "We have witnesses putting you at the scene of the crime and cameras backing up those testimonies." She was still intently staring as the interpreter made her words understandable.
"Book me then. If you're so damn sure then why do you need me to confess?" The detective sighed begrudgingly.
"You know that just being at the crime scene doesn't mean that we can just throw you in cuffs, neither does the fact that detective Peralta saw you ditching the stolen goods into a park bush. But we know that you did it, we will bring you to justice and more importantly, we will do so in time to get a McDonald's breakfast."
Two detectives sat opposite each other shot you icy glances in between nervously checking the clock and their watches.
"Those two? They will not rest until they get their breakfast." Rosa raised an eyebrow at you. "Well, they will rest but you know what I mean. I once saw a perp get in between them and a 2-for-1 deal at Wendy's and let me tell you, I would not want to see that again, still stains on the floor that no matter how hard they tried the cleaner just could not wipe up."
Her threats did nothing to help you confess, but they did do a lot for you.
"I tell you what." Her ears perked up. "How about me and you cosy on up and go on a date? A few drinks maybe? I'll tell you everything that you need to know." The interpreter and Rosa blushed in unison.
"Look... even if I wanted to, I couldn't date a perp so how about you just confess, and we'll be done here."
"But it isn't if you want to be it Rosa? You do want to... I know it. I can read you like a book, you want me don't you." They both blushed even harder.
"How about we see what forensics tells us about the prints on those stolen goods, then well see about a date, how's that?" Rosa could not help but bite her lip and clench her fists, you shrugged and walked off, knowing that she wouldn't stop you. She would come back to you anyway.
