Slowly the sensation in your fingers dwindled into nothingness, the plastic had embedded it's print into your skin as you sat on the cold floor of the bank for what had felt like hours. In reality though the constant harping of the bank robbers reminded you that you had only been there for about fifteen minutes and if they had anything to do with it, you were going to be there for much longer. You had heard the police outside, shouting through and bombarding the robbers with warning but they still carried on, waving their weapons around and trying everything to crack into the safes.
"Psst." You heard from above, 'great, now I'm hallucinating' you thought as you tried to look up, but the restrictive binding prevented it. You heard the noise over and over again, there was nobody else around you except the robbers to ask. "Watch out!" You heard as something fell from the ceiling, you scooped it over with your foot and slowly manoeuvred it over and into your lap. It appeared to be a pizza crust, it must have been at least a few days old, but one side had been inscribed with child like handwriting. It was a bit hard to read in the dark, but eventually you made it out to read 'In the vent, distract him, I'm NYPD.' And you were convinced that you were finally going crazy but what did you have to lose.
"Hey!" You shouted over, catching the attention of the lackey tasked with watching you. "I can't feel my fingers, can you come and loosen my tie?" The gun wielding couldn't help but crack up at your request, he pointed the barrel towards your head as he walked forward towards you.
"What do you think this is? Some kind of holiday camp... you aren't here for comfort, shut up before you make me splatter your brains against the window." He came over and squatted over you, his face pressed against yours until the mystery vent man jumped through and on top of him, rendering him unconscious.
"Hi, I'm Jake Peralta. I'm with the NYPD and I'm here to rescue you today." He collected his pizza and the firearm from the floor.
"You spoke to me with pizza crust..."
"Yeah, I had it in my pocket, I'm not sure why but it came in handy."
"I'm counting on you to save me, okay?"
"Don't worry, I'm just here to let the other guys in. I was the only one available who could fit through the vent."
