We all stared at the woman in the silver dress. "You must excuse Dominic for his aggressive behavior. But we all have..." She paused. "Concerns, with your brother" she spit out the words with disgust. Although it was clear she was not in his favor. And why would she or anyone in this room stand up for my brother? I helped Axel up, he was weak but said nothing. He's not there guest and who knows if he will ever be welcomed here. A girl with light brown skin and curly brown hair stared at Axel with curiosity and then stared directly at me. As if contemplating our worth, she has to be the same age as me.

The brother covered in his own blood, the careless sister who bit him and the alpha who stood against them to help me. She sat next to Dominic who was still enraged. It seemed like the whole world was waiting. Waiting for there decision? Why does the world revolve around them?   Why do I have to listen to them? Her voice was stern, "It's clear Axels mistakes have affected all of us. How could he have stood against his own blood if he was not corrupted by the hunters? Now, I know you are angry." I glanced to Dominic who was clenching his fist. "We all are but if we are going to survive then we welcome anyone with open arms. After all he knows there men, weapons and ultimately there weaknesses.  If he can prove himself as a loyal member to pack 5 then he stays. If not, then he will be punished as a traitor to his pack and his own family." I expected to hear voices roar with anger or objections.

But everyone remained silent, as if her word was final. Cassidy scoffed, she looked at them in annoyance but held her tongue. But she's giving him a chance and that's more than necessary. The council began to leave first, everyone formed a path as she walked by. The only one in the room who seemed to show mercy. The only one who will give him a second chance.

We stood in the woods and I could tell everyone was avoiding us. Cassidy seemed glad, as if she wanted nothing to do with them. She sat in the grass staring at the girl, in spite. I had never seen Cassidy look so angry. Did they know each other? I could ask her later, first I wanted to thank her. I walked up to the girl, Golden eyes and Dominic were right by her side. I swear I saw her tense as I approached. "Xenia, i'll be fine both of you can leave." Although Xenia's expression was neutral her eyes were cold staring at me.

"I just wanted to thank you for sparing my brothers life. I'm so grateful, that your giving him a fresh start. He's all I have left. If there's anything I can do to repay you..." I wanted to say more but the next few words didn't come out, as if I couldn't dare say them out loud. Axel is the only person looking out for me. She nodded, " I've meet your brother before and it was not on good terms. Make no mistake your brother has caused nothing but pain." She paused, it felt like time stopped and I couldn't move. Frozen waiting for the next few words.

As if people were listening to her every word. This conversation wasn't between us. It was between a leader and her subject? "Axel, is nothing more than an asset until he proves himself. But if tries to do anything against my people," Her voice was harsh, she wanted me to hear every word. I was nothing more to her than Axels sister, the enemies sister. Which means anyone here could use me as leverage to make the hunter behave.

The queen of wolves smiled, "You will never be safe, unless you obey." She had this spark in her eyes as if she ruled the world but she doesn't. She doesn't control me, us, hybrids or not. "What if we don't." I gave a smirk of my own although every part of her terrified me. But I couldn't show it, i have to stick up for us. "I hope you never find out." as her eyes glowed with a predators gaze. I wonder if she could smell the fear. I wonder if she could hear my heart beating faster or notice my hands shaking.  She threatened me and my family, she wants me to be afraid because we both know if Axel ruins this act of kindness than we're both dead.
