Chapter Twenty-One:

Crap.

I’m in trouble.

“Hey Mum, Dad… Drew,” I trailed off awkwardly.

I didn’t want to tell them today, I was thinking about breaking it over some expensive lunch or dinner that I would pay for during the week or something. Not now, I’m not ready now; and especially since I know that they would react like this.

Drew was still pacing around the room; he looked really worried and had watery eyes. Hannah walked up to him and pulled on his hand to sit him down on the sofa next to him, he fell down next to her and pulled her into a massive hug.

I stood there in confusion as Hannah was literally getting hugged to death by Drew and both of my parents were looking towards them both with disappointed looks on their faces. Not that I mind or anything, but shouldn’t this be me getting hugged to death, and shouldn’t it be both of my parents looking at me like that instead of Hannah.

I went over to sit on the other side of the sofa next to my mother. Her head was now in her hands and then she looked back up to my brother and my best friend. My dad on the other hand was now pacing instead on stood still.

“Don’t worry babe,” I heard Drew mutter into her shoulder.

“Worry about what?” she asked pulling away from him confused.

“We’re going to get through this; I’ll get a job… Anything,” he was really worried. But why was he telling this to Hannah and not directly to…

Ahhh, I get it now.

They all think that Hannah is pregnant.

I really want to see how this plays out.

“What are you talking about babe?” she asked confused.

“I’ll save, it’s going to be us three from now on,” Drew placed a protective hand over Hannah’s stomach.

Oh dear…

“What?!” she exclaimed.

This should be good.

“It’s going to be me, you and our baby,” He tried to explain.

“We’ll help out as best as we can and you can stay here because we consider you as family Hannah,” my mum rubbed her arm softly.

“Oh, this is not what you lot think,” she tried to reassure them all.

“Han, you don’t have to do this alone… I’ll get up in the middle of the night, bottle feeding, nappy changing, and I’ll fund the life for our baby,” Drew sounded serious.

“That’s right, you can both get jobs to pay for this baby until it is born,” my dad said sternly to them both.

“Trust me guys, your all jumping to conclusions,” Hannah tried to see them see sense.

“No, let’s see what they have to say…” I replied smiling at her and letting everyone carry on.

“Hannah, don’t try to deny it… It was going to come out sooner or later,” Drew was rubbing her hand reassuringly.

“But they’re not mine!” she suddenly came out with. All three of them looked at her with the same look she had before.

“Hannah, sweetie, we found them under your bed,” My mum lent forward and caressed her knee motherly.

Time to step up…

“Actually, Hannah’s telling the truth,” I admitted.

Everyone instantly looked at me, mixed emotions on all faces four faces. But three of them already thought that one was pregnant; it’s exactly the same, I think?
