Chapter twenty-four
“What?!” I nearly shouted in her face.
“You heard me, you have to tell Zack that he is the daddy of your baby,” she repeated her earlier statement.
She had to be bat-shit crazy to ask me to do something like this, I couldn’t. I can’t pretend that Zack freaking Blakely, the biggest jerk in the entire continent, is the father of my baby. Never, I couldn’t even bring myself to think about it, let alone say it to his face; was just wrong beyond compare to anything else. And Max, I can’t look him in the face and tell him that he’s not the father of my baby when he actually is, and the look on his face will be heart-breaking.
“No, I can’t,” I could almost feel tears well up in my eyes, but I didn’t want to cry in front of Willa, I just couldn’t.
“Yes you will, and before you tell Zack, you have to tell Max that you lied to him and that he’s not the dad… Simples,” she pulled out her phone from her bag and started constantly typing, I just stood there in awe of how she could just stand there and talk about this so casually without giving a damn.
“And what do you get out of this exactly? What do you achieve in getting me back with Zack?” I asked her folding my arms over my chest. She was quiet for a bit and shoved her phone back into her bag, sighing heavily, pouting and staring at me with her over mascaraed eyelashes. Oh.
“Oh I get it,” I finally said with an added smile.
“Get what skank?” she groaned.
“You’re not the one in charge here are you; Katie’s the big ring leader in this situation… She’s the one calling all of the shots, telling you what to do and deciding what happens. You’re her little symbol clapping pet monkey,” I summarised.
“I’m no one’s pet monkey, I have a plan,”
“Oh please, pray tell,” I smirked back to her.
“Like I’m going to tell you, you little street whore,” she retorted.
“Hey! I take my job on my corner very seriously,” I pulled on the edges of my jacket as if to assert myself, but I just burst out laughing afterwards as I really couldn’t keep up that act.
I had a little joke with Haliee a long time ago that I was a street whore and that I had my own little corner with a sign that hung around my neck with the prices on it. I made it up after she asked me why I wasn’t picking up my phone one night and I just casually replied that my customers on my corner were getting feisty and that I had to slot in a drunk. That joke still plays out to this very day, but now it’s worse because she knows that I’m pregnant too. But it’s still fun.
“So, are you going to agree slut?”
“You’re going so low that you have to refer to lower school insults, I’m a little disappointment if I’m completely honest,” I fired back.
“Well it’s true; you obviously can’t keep your legs closed biatch,” She replied with attitude.
“Okay, you do realise that I would rather rot in hell than ever get back with Zack, right?” I shrugged off her meaningless insults.
“You don’t have to love him, just be with him, maybe sleep with him for a trust exercise or something,” she commented.
“A trust exercise? This isn’t summer camp!” I exclaimed.
“Oh and you’re not allowed to tell Max anything about our little agreement as well, part of the whole proposition thing,” she groaned on like a little robot.
