Time went by unnoticed, it could have been minutes, it could have been hours. Straddling Riley on the floor, I landed punch after punch onto her pretty little face. Honestly, she lasted longer than the others had. Now she laid immobile underneath me.
On my right, Darla lay spread across the broken center table, unconscious. After biting my forearm, I twisted her own arm until I heard several snaps. Undoubtedly it was broken. She'd passed out from the pain. The brunette, whose name I discovered was Fefe, had managed to crawl out from under the broken stained glass. Now she was slumped against the wall behind me, blood and bruises painted across her face.
It wasn't until I heard a strangled sound that I looked up, my bloodied fists pausing above my victim. In an instant I was grabbed around the waist by my very shocked body guard. Benjamin and Bennett stared in stunned silence, watching Dallas pull me away from Riley.
" What are you doing?!" Dallas asked, his voice nothing short of furious. " What have you done?"
" If you'd been doing your job instead of getting distracted, this wouldn't have happened!" I screamed at him, ruffly shoving him away. I blamed him. I blamed him more than I blamed anyone. It was his job to protect her, to watch and keep her safe. He stared at me with wide eyes, as if he couldn't begin to fathom me being this angry at him.
Angry didn't even scratch the surface. I was furious." Where's Felicity?" Bennett asked, calmly but curiously looking around the room.
" And YOU," I said coldly to Benjamin, taking slow, determined steps towards him.
" You should have known it was dangerous to have Felicity here. She should have been under the protection of your guards if you thought for even a second that one of these skanks might harm her."Benjamin flinched, eyeing me cautiously. " What does this have to do with Felicity?"
Bennett approached me slowly from the side, gently taking my elbow. " What happened, Katherine?"
" Katherine? Where are you?" Felicity asked. All the anger was washed away at the sound of her broken voice. The rage came flooding back when I thought about what these girls did to her. Spinning away from Bennett, I grabbed Riley by her hair and lifted her head to land another punch on her face.
A round of gasps came from the boys.
" Oh my god.." Dallas said quietly. Seething, I turned on him again. He should have been there! He should have protected her!
" Next time, keep it in your pants!" I screamed at him. I grabbed hold of one of the broken legs from the table and hurled it at him.
Felicity took slow, hesitant steps into the room, staring wide eyed at the three badly beaten girls strewn around the room. Her gaze softened when her eyes lifted to meet mine, her voice breaking when she asked, " You did this for me?"
Bennett reached a hand out, caressing her bruised cheek gently. Though the gesture was affectionate, his eyes were unreadable.
" What happened darling?" Benjamin asked her. Without answering, she threw herself at me. Fresh tears sprang into her eyes when she pulled me into a bone crushing hug.
" Thank you." She said, her voice breaking at the end. " Thank you so much."
" C'mon Felicity," I said leading her out of the room.
" Katherine, wait." Dallas said. I didn't stop, I didn't even look at him. I couldn't bear to see the person I'd felt so strongly for suddenly mean nothing to me. He'd gone too far.
" Let us help." Benjamin said.
" You've done enough." I said.
