Chapter 32

How long has it been since I updated? I don't even know. I don't think I want to know. Long enough that I had to go back in the book to refresh my memory. I feel terrible for letting this story go for so long. I should have shoved my other stories aside and forced myself to write in this one, after all, none of my other stories are published on wattpad and had people waiting for me to update. If you're reading this, you are amazing. What did I do to deserve such loyal readers? I'm sure I would have lost patience in a story at this point, if it were me.

So before I get on to the actual chapter, how about a brief recap. Fair warning, I suck at recaps, I'm just going to go over everything important. So if you want a better idea of what happened, you might want to skim through the previous chapters.

Skip italic writing if you don't want to read the recap.

Okay, so back in Chapter 21, yes, that far back, Benjamin and Katherine made a deal, she brings Bennett and Felicity together, and in return he tells her everything he knows about the curse and contract.

In Chapter 24 Felicity discovers that Katherine made a deal with both Bennett and Benjamin. Suffice to say she felt betrayed and stormed out.

In Chapter 25 Dallas confesses his love for her, then resigns. Her mother admits she never wanted a child. She asks Bennett to stay and hold her. Boy was that an emotional chapter.

In Chapter 26 --the trigger warning chapter -- Bennett harnesses his powers to save her life.

Chapter 28 Katherine and Benjamin eavesdrop on Luca and Pamula. Now this chapter is important to the rest of the story, so if you don't remember it well, I would recommend re-reading this one above all others.

Chapter 29 Felicity  apologizes for how she reacted in Chapter 24.

Chapter 30 she needs signatures, her mother's royal crest and a pretty red ribbon for future plans.

And FINALLY, in Chapter 31, the last time I updated, Felicity and Bennett discuss the curse and how to prevent a wedding over lunch. He takes Katherine to the library, where he tries to remind her of her friendship with Felicity. She runs off. Benjamin talks about Bennetts mother, then tells her Jefferson (Felicitys father) is the one her mother was having an affair with. He tells her all this because he's been flirting with Joselynn to get answers. He wants Katherines help uncovering the past.

Now, onward with the story!

------------------------------------------

I wanted to break something, I wanted to break everything. So I tore Pamula's favorite magenta drapes. A split started at the top and came down diagonally.  A handful of the loops that held the drapes in place dangled. I swung at every vace full of flowers that I came across. The glass and pottery shattered all over the floor into tiny pieces, the flowers laying in pathetic piles. I knocked over tables, kicked their legs and threw them at the paintings hanging on the walls. But none of it helped. It wasn't enough.

I went out in search for Luca, hoping a good brawl would take my mind off of the argument I'd had with Bennett. Why couldn't he just accept that I wasn't the same person I'd been before Dallas left? Why did he have to try and change me, try to make me feel again? On top of that, there was the subject of my mother's affair, with Felicity's father, of all people.

Where was Luca when you needed him? I searched the entire palace, but could not find him anywhere.

I did however, run into my whore of a mother.

Beggars can't be choosers, I guess. I'll just have to settle for what's given to me. With a cold sneer, I swiftly stepped into her path.

She looked up, glared at me, and waved her hand impatiently. "Move out of my way at once. I'm in no mood to deal with you right now."
