I woke with a start, unable to breath. Everything was dark when I opened my eyes. Fear started to sink in when I felt weight holding me down. Thrashing violently, I tried to remove the object that was suffocating me.

" You're going to get what you deserve." A female voice said from above me. She pressed the fluffy object down harder over my face. Terror tugged at my insides. If I couldn't get out from under her, she was going to kill me.

" Leave her alone!" Felicity said from somewhere nearby. There was a loud smack followed by her scream. I kicked and swung, turned and twisted, but none of it worked. The pressure let up slightly when I heard the door slam against the wall. In an instant the weight above me was lifted. Frantically I reached for the object on my face, tossing it aside. It was a pillow.

At the end of the bed Bennett stood, holding Fefe by her neck with one hand. She looked at him with wide eyes, struggling to free herself. He threw her across the room like she weighed nothing. A scream tore through her lips before her body made contact with the wall. I didn't notice Felicity until Bennett turned his cold glare towards the two girls holding my cousin back. Darla and Riley shared a glance right before Darla was slammed into the wall behind them.

I barely saw it when Bennett sunk his fangs into her neck. A horrifying scream resonated in her throat. I scrambled off the bed, watching Felicity's knees wobble. In mere seconds Bennett turned back around, his eyes barely a shade lighter than black. Riley froze. She didn't move. I don't think she even breathed. I blinked and the next thing I knew, she was sailing through the air. Without anyone to keep her in place, Felicity collapsed to the floor.

Heart racing, I rushed to my cousin, taking her trembling form into my arms. She dissolved into sobs, her face turning deathly pale. I took deep breaths, holding her close.

" It's okay, it's okay now." I said to her.

" What is this?!"

When I looked up, Benjamin, Dallas and a couple of guards were standing in the door way. They scanned the room, from the two barely conscious girls and the one holding her bleeding neck, sobbing her heart out. Then there was Bennett. His jaw clenched, eyes going dark.

Benjamin took a hesitant step backward, holding his hand outward. " Bennett, stay calm, deep breaths."

Bennett didn't listen, instead he advanced towards the four men standing in the doorway. I leapt to my feet, ignoring the warnings flashing through my mind when I ran out in front of him. He paused in his pursuit long enough for me to take his hand. I stared into his charcoal black eyes until I saw flecks of valkyrie blue peeking through.

" It's over now." I said quietly.
" Bennett, it's over."

His natural eye color came rushing back. Relief flooded through my body. I threw my arms around his neck, pressing him closer. He tensed under my touch, but didn't move away. He saved my life and Felicity's. If it hadn't been for him, Fefe would have suffocated me. I didn't even want to think about what they would have done to Felicity when they were finished with me.

" Thank you," I said, a few tears escaping the corners of my eyes.

When I pulled away he faced Benjamin, " They were attacked by these girls. Again."

Benjamin's lips pursed tightly, he waved to his guards. " I'll see to it that they're punished."

" And their safety?" Dallas asked.

" From now on, my guards will see to their protection." Benjamin said. He stepped out of the doorway, allowing the guards to enter the room. They took the three girls, harshly shoving them through the room. As Fefe passed by, her gaze met mine. I stared back at the unwavering hatred in her eyes.
