" I know Katherine. I know what you feel for me is real."

I tossed and turned all night, wishing he had stayed a bit longer instead of leaving shortly after. When morning came, all I wanted to do was stay curled up under the blankets and sleep a while longer. As I would have, had I not woken up to the sound of voices in my room. Adrenaline shot through my body, any drowsiness I felt vanishing entirely. I thought about Fefe, how I'd woken up in the middle of the night to find her on top of me, pressing a pillow against my face.

" Let her sleep!" One of the voices hissed, this one much quieter than the other.

" Calm yourself, I only wish to-"

I shot upright, startling the both of them. Benjamin and Bennett stood at the end of my bed, both looking at me. Confused, I rubbed the crust from my eyes. Was this a dream? Why would they be in my bedroom?

" Ah, good, you are awake." Benjamin said happily.

Bennett scolded him. " I'm certain you are the reason she is awake."

His father waved his hand dismissively. " Details, details."

I relaxed slightly, reminding myself that I was back in my mothers' palace. Fefe and the others couldn't get to me here, they were locked away.

" As much as I could care less if we created a scandal, I must say you both lack boundaries. Like father, like son, I suppose." I said in a reprimanding tone. " What is it you want?"

" To offer my services, of course." Benjamin said casually. He sat at the end of my bed, a sly smile on his face. " I could kill him, if you'd like. Quietly, of course."

" You're not going to kill him, or anyone for that matter." Bennett said firmly. He remained standing, arms crossed over his chest.

Kill who?

Benjamin rolled his eyes, paying his son no mind at all. He placed all of his attention on me, waiting eagerly. " Well?"

Was he talking about Luca? I guess there really wasn't anyone else he could be referring to. But was he serious? I never knew Benjamin to joke around, it didn't seem like he was now either. Still, I found it difficult to wrap my head around. He would kill someone, and for me, none-the-less.

" You're serious?"

" Absolutely."

" You would kill him, if I asked?" I asked him. Leaning towards him, I raised a questioning eyebrow.

" Don't tell me you're actually considering this." Bennett said. He looked at me wide eyed, taking a couple steps closer to the bed. " Katherine, though I don't care much for him either, we can't go around condoning murder!"

Benjamin sighed, propping his ankle on the opposite leg. " As you can see, Bennett isn't on board with my plan. But if you agree, I think he could be persuaded."

" You can't kill him!" Bennett said. Throwing his arms in the air dramatically, he started pacing across the room. " It would raise too many questions."

" What do you say my dear?" Benjamin asked. " Do you agree with my son? He did after all refuse to share information with you regarding the curse. Perhaps his opinion on the matter shouldn't be taken into consideration."

" Stop making me out to be the bad guy!" Bennett said. He whirled around to face us, stalking towards the bed with a deadly look in his eyes. " I'm not the bad guy!"

" Ah, but you did go back on your word, therefore, you are the bad guy." Benjamin said sweetly. He looked like he was enjoying this a tad bit too much.
