"Officers are on their way now, thank you for finally telling us" The officer told me while patting my shoulder.

I pressed my lips on each other and sighed, knowing that this was all going to be over now.

"We know that this situation is really serious and we're going to need to talk to Martina about this. Mostly about what he did to her and some background information" He explained. I nodded my head lightly, knowing that this was necessary.

"I'll tell her and then take her here. I'll be back in about 30 minutes" The officer smiled and thanked me.

I walked out of the room and took direction towards Tini again.

She was lying in her bed, sleeping. Her tired body had fallen asleep within a second after I left to tell the officers.

I sat down next to her and briefly stroke her cheek with my fingers. Her eyelashes moved up and her eyes got in contact with mine. A smile showed on her lips.

I twisted my arms around her waist and tilted her, making her sit against the back of the bed. "And? Did you tell them?" She questioned while my arms were still around her tiny body.

"Yes" I admittedly answered. "They want you to come and they'll ask you some questions, you know how serious this is" She nodded her head sadly, looking down at the ground.

She somehow managed to press her lips on mine without me realising it.

I smiled in the kiss before I backed off. "We really gotta go down there, if you want I'll be with you. If you don't want me there, I'll be waiting here for you" I said, leaving her a choice.

"Come with me" She said, taking a tight hold of my hand before I pulled her of the bed.

She let out an unamusing sigh but followed me anyway. We arrived at the officers and both me and Tini sat down in the chairs of their opposite.

"We know this is something hard for you to talk about, so we are happy you came here Martina. Who else knows about this besides us and him?" One of the two officers asked her, pointing at me.

I feel her move closet against me, pressing our sides together. "My best friend Cande, I told her some weeks ago" She said, remaining calm for now.

I know she didn't like to talk about this, it made her think too much about it. It made her memories return.

"What do you remember about your father? When did he start?" I heard her take a deep inhale. Her grip tightened on my hand and her sad eyes took a connecting look with the officer.

"This all started after my mother left us. She left us for another man, never returning. The first weeks my father was only sad and lonely, he was having a tough time and I decided to leave him" The tears that made its way to her eyes were close to falling out.

"Weeks later he started abusing me, hurting me. It became a daily routine. I came home, he would beat me up. Then he started raping me, taking everything that was mine." The tears rolled over her cheeks. I circled my arms around her waist, holding her.

Bravely she continued telling, swallowing her tears. "Day by day the situation got worse. His abusements were ruder and his words harsher. I knew I couldn't keep up long, my body couldn't" She said, her hand moved to the wound on her stomach.

She was sitting cramped into herself already from the beginning. I knew she was hurting.

"That was the moment he found out" Her eyes locked with mine, again she swallowed.

"He saved me, he saved me from death two times" Were here last words before she crashed down into tears in my chest.

Her hands tangled around me and her tears soaked my shirt.

"Do you remember her?" The officer asked, remaining a straight face but still showing mercy for her in a way.

"Who?" Tini hitched out of her thickening throat.

"Your mother, do you remember much about her?" Tini released her head from my body, looking at the officer while thinking.

"I do" She said, I widened my eyes. "She was one of the sweetest mom's there was. I remember how we played in the park together and I always whined for an ice cream when I heard those bells ring. She'd laugh and give me one, but made me promise that it was 'our secret'." Her eyes filled with tears, but letting no tears fall out this time.

"I remember late in the night, when I couldn't sleep. I didn't want to wake her with my problems so I suffered on my own, but somehow she knew when I was awake. She came to my room, crawling under the blankets next to me. Then she'd sing me a song, so tender but so powerful." My arms held her tighter to me, feeling her hurt.

"Her arms held me while I zoned off curled up inside her. She was always there for me whenever I needed her. I was only small, but I knew she meant the world to me. She was my world" And instead of crying, she smiled.

And some people would look at her like she was crazy for smiling, because of the sad tension that was hanging around.

But not me. Instead I smiled back and held her. "That's a gorgeous memorie" I told her while kissing her forehead and releasing the embrace.

"Thank you for telling us, we'll go through this information and try to arrest your father. We promise you will be safe" And for the first time, I saw Tini smile so genuinely and so free at the officer.

Her eyes looked so relax, not so tensed like when I met her. But so calm, so.. free.

"Let's go back" I proposed and wanted to take her back to her room with me. But she shook her head and stayed seated right where she was.

"No we can't go" Now the officer turned around as well, confused of her words.

"Why not?" I questioned while seating down next to her again. She closed her eyes a few seconds and then opened them again.

She inhaled before talking. "Because there's more"
